Recommended for dogs 50+ lbs It's important to select the proper size and type of chew for your dog's age, weight and chewing strength. Non-edible chews should be large enough to encourage chewing from the side rather than top and bottom. If you have more than one dog in your household, select chews appropriate for the largest, strongest chewer.
Always supervise the use of all chews and toys. Inspect before giving to your dog to make sure it's whole and intact. Check frequently and replace if worn or damaged or if it becomes too small to chew safely.
Hand wash with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
Can I put my dog's Nylabone® in the dishwasher?
Nylabone® Chews and Toys should not be autoclaved, boiled, placed in a dishwasher, washing machine, convection or microwave oven. To clean Nylabone® Non-Edible Chews, scrub with a brush under warm water, using mild, non-toxic detergent, and rinse thoroughly. Inspect for wear while cleaning.
When should I replace my dog's favorite Non-Edible Nylabone® chew?
Replace when knuckle ends are worn down, or if it becomes too small for your dog to chew safely.

Okay for tough chewers
By Violet on Feb 6, 2021
My 1 y/o beagle mix has chainsaws for teeth and most toys don't last her very long, so I'm glad to see that weeks later she's still playing with this. The problem is that after a lot of chewing, the thing starts to act like velcro and catch on anything fabric- her towel, her mat and her ropes all get caught on this thing, and it rips out threads and gets covered in nasty string. It hasn't caused any real problems, but I'm not sure how comfortable I am with her chewing on a mass of disgusting loose strings and dirt. I won't be buying it again, but if you have a superchewer that destroys everything else within hours, this is a good option.

Long lasting
By LadysMom on Jan 30, 2021
This is our second DuraChew. Lady has enjoyed many happy hours for more than a year gnawing on her first one so that it is a shadow of itself. This is definitely for ultra chewers with good strong teeth. Lady is mostly Shepard with some Pit Bull which is evident in her dentures. (Real ones, not false!) I wouldn't recommend this for dogs that have more delicate teeth, like collies, etc. But for my girl, it is perfect. Edges do get sharp after chewing, but never seem to harm her gums. Also, I know the bits chewed off must go somewhere, but I have never found a trace in her stools or anywhere else so they must be quite small.

Best for Aggressive Chewers
By All3Dogs on Feb 22, 2021
This has held up to a German Shepard, a Yellow Lab and a Pit Bull. This is the only chew toy to have made it this far!! Will be ordering more because they love these and they have lasted longer than any other aggressive labeled toy.

Good chewing alternative
By sarah on Jan 24, 2021
My dog really likes this, she doesnt chew it all the time but she does like to pull it out the toy bin and chew on it on the frequent. Its a great size, but I will say watch it when your dog leaves it in the middle of the floor, its a bugger when you hit your foot off of it! When the dog chews it does become a little rough but she really likes it.

SOOO GOOD!
By Ozzy on Jan 28, 2021
If "extreme, heavy chewing" were a sport, our AST/daschund mix would be a world champ! We've been searching for a toy that would satisfy his fix and still allow for fun! This chew is heavy duty (and heavy/clunky) and well worth it for a dog that can destroy toys in seconds flat!

My dog LOVES this toy.
By LuvMyFurBaby on Feb 3, 2021
She really likes that the toy allows her to "hold" it down while she chews on it. Keeps her busy for 15 minutes at a time multiple times a day. And since it is Nylabone, I don't worry about splinters or bad stuff for her stomach

Nope. Read my review
By VicO on Jan 17, 2021
Had hopes for this but my GS/Lab/Rottie mix chewed on this a few times & a big enough piece broke off and he choked. I did the Heimlich & it worked. But Scary! It must have scratched the inside of his throat as well. I threw it away.

Dog fractured tooth on this bone!
By Erin on Jan 7, 2021
Please beware if purchasing this bone. My young dog is a heavy chewer and while chewing this bone, fractured her 3rd premolar. The tooth could not be saved which resulted in costly surgery to extract the tooth.

FAVORITE CHEW TOY
By Penny on Dec 9, 2020
My dog loves this so much, I ordered a replacement when the first one started to wear out & ordered another for my brothers dog to try. My dog is a strong chewer and this design is great that it rests on the ground and is elevated for her to chew comfortably. It is a bit clunky and has some weight to it.

Yeah, No. Not A Good Match.
By Flutter on Oct 16, 2020
This was marked as good for large breeds and tough chewers, so I was psyched to have found a toy that was not only going to stand up to our pooch's chewy ways but might also be good for her dental health. To be fair, my dog was THRILLED with this toy. So thrilled that she immediately went to town on it and in less than 5 minutes she had chewed off at least one of the dental nubs and I had to take it away from her. She was not pleased. Nor was I. Every dog is different, so maybe this will be good for your pooch, but my 55 pound Pit mix proved too tough a chewer for this toy. Back to the drawing board. Waiting to hear from customer service about a refund.
