I bought this thing because our Aussie mix is a vigorous chewer. He reluctantly used it but he clearly is not a fan. The chewed parts on it are sharp, so probably not nice on the tongue or gum. Given the choice I would skip it.
This product gives the animals a different reason to behave with out tricking the animals behavior, by constantly giving your furry friends delicious treats which can cause obesity under annoying behaviors.
I thought the product review said it was for “extreme chewers”, it looked big and bulky I thought it would be a perfect match for my dog something tough enough that he couldn’t chip away at This product is like all Nyla products All throughout my house I find pieces of this toy from him chewing on it again just be aware of your dog ingesting this
It was super excited to give this treat to my golden retriever puppy! Sadly she doesn't like it. And she chews on grass....
I have a pittie/spaniel mix who is around 65lbs and a Yorkie who is 6lbs. They both love this huge turkey leg chew. (XX-Large) No matter what, if one dog has it, the other must as well. Size matters not when you have siblings. My Yorkie can pick up all the chew toys and jump on the couch. The chews weigh almost as much as she does. And my larger dog will steal the teeny tiny little cat toys that my Yorkie usually turns he head with, but suddenly wants as soon as her sis gets near. If the other has it, there is a plot to steal it. That being said, it's the funniest thing watching two very different size dogs try and take this huge turkey leg from each other, or hide it. It is easily the heaviest chew we have, but the texture, taste, and firmness has made this one of their go-to toys. If your dog likes chicken and/or sweet potato flavoring, and can pick up and chew a full-sized turkey leg, get the XX-Large. This particular chew size is very similar to an actual turkey leg but a little heavier in weight.
Very durable my dogs a monster and still hasn't destroyed this toy.
His name is not Mikey, but he will eat just about anything. He is a "chew til it's gone" kind of pup so anything we give him needs to last a while. Thankfully, his Turkey Leg is lasting, so far. The directions say to watch if bigger pieces come off, that they can be a choking hazard. We know that we can leave him alone with it for a while and not be worried. He will chew on it for a lil bit then leave it alone. He obviously likes the flavor and the texture.
This toy is perfect for a dog like mine who has destroyed every single toy I’ve ever given her within the first half hour. It is really sturdy and holds up to a dog who has the crushing bite of an alligator and has saved so many of my table and chair legs.
I bought this for my dog when I first adopted her and she LOVED it! When it got a little raggedy I went to my local pet store to get another and couldn’t find it and have not been able to find it since. I was so excited to see it on Chewy that I bought 2! She is in heaven!
He doesn't seem as interested in this chew as other ones I've ordered, so we won't order again. He's a big dog, but this bone seems a little awkward and heavy
