  • Dinosaur Success!

    By on

I have an 8 month old shepherd-lab-pit mix. He LOVES to have toys to chew on. (Such a good boy.... only ever chewing on his TOYS!) When he was 4-6 months old, he had the Nylabone blue dinosaur for puppies. And it was his FAVORITE! He was so sad when I had to throw it out because it had become nothing but a little nub. So I was extremely happy to see a Nylabone dinosaur in the non-puppy version! He is a very happy guy having his dinosaur back! For reference, he weighs just shy of 50lbs, and I ordered the Giant/Large size, and received the Brontosaurus shape. Thank you Chewy for providing a variety of both toys and food at great prices!

  • Love it but a bit smaller than expected

    By on

I had read reviews of you not being able to choose which figure you wanted but since I ordered the giant size I assumed we would get the lagest size. No not the case. We have a almost 10 month old Newfoundland who's over 105lbs so you can see why we wanted the largest available. But he still loves it! I think he really likes the nubs on it, even more than the regular smooth plastic toys. I do recommend just know they're smaller than they appear ... Good for tough chewers.

  • Dog loved it! Supervised use only, though.

I got this for my dog back at Christmas time, and he showed immediate interest. Even my reluctant chewer had her time with it. It's somewhat small and very hard, so I kept an eye on them anytime they had it. Six months later, I'm ready to throw away the gross lump of what's left, and get a new one. Good product, excellent price! I only would not recommend for giant breeds (mine is a large 80lb lab) because I feel it would be too small for them.

  • Let me pick!

Didn't realize these were sent at random. Would've preferred the t-rex. Recieved the triceretops. My boyfriend opened the package and gave her the toy before i got home from work. My 6 month (toy destroyer) mutt chewed off the tiny head and most of the tail. Looks like a bumpy blob now. Maybe the shape of the t-rex would've been better suited for her. Giving this 3 stars instead of 2 bc it was less than $5. Ain't even that mad, lol. But would've liked an option.

  • great for chewers!

this toy is def made for chewers! my bulldog will grab this toy and go to a corner and chew for a good 10-15 minutes before being distracted by something else (like sleep). we have been using it for a month now and the toy extremities are still there (def a little ragged but you can still tell it's a dinosaur!). The one down side is that it's plastic...bulldogs love to eat EVERYTHING that ouches the ground (it's all food you see?)...thankfully/not so thankfully i have been finding the small plastic shavings on the ground and he hasn't been eating them (or most of them at least)...the positive is that the plastic comes off small enough that it shouldn't effect the digestive track if it is swallowed this toy is def made for chewers! my bulldog will grab this toy and go to a corner and chew for a good 10-15 minutes before being distracted by something else (like sleep). we have been using it for a month now and the toy extremities are still there (def a little ragged but you can still tell it's a dinosaur!). • A little too hard

    By on

I bought this for my 5 month old Corgi. He first had the blue dinosaur for puppies and loved it. But he chewed off pieces and I had to throw it away. This one is pretty hard so it should last a long time. I just wish he liked it better. Since I like how it's made, I'll keep it to see if he starts chewing on it. But I wouldn't buy it again.

  • Can't choose which dinosaur

    By on

Both my dogs and me love the Nylabone dinosaur chews. My only nit is that chewy.com does not give you the option to select which dinosaur (t-rex, stegosaurus, or brontosaurus). Also, even the "large" size are still relatively small for dogs over 50 pounds. Still, if we're going to have dog toys lying on the floor, it's hilarious to look down and see a prehistoric beast.

  • Max strikes again

    By on

Max my GSP 2yr old liked this toy as much as other Kong toys. Its durability is good, not great, as he had its head and tail eaten off in about 30 minutes which is surprising for a nylabone toy. He still chews on the remaining blob of a body and hasn't made much more progress in destroying the dinosaur. So not completely Max proof but adequate enough to entertain him.

  • My 2 power chewers love these!

    By on

I have a Bull Terrier and an English Bulldog and both destroy soft toys in seconds! I bought one of these in a store and they chewed on it for months! I was very happy to get 2 replacements for them on Chewy and for much cheaper! Definitely their favorite chew toy and they last for months despite my power chewers!

  • funny story

    By on

I really can't review this item because I haven't seen it in action personally. I order dogfood for our 3 families who are all on a different delivery schedule. Needed dog food for my brother-in-law so I added the toy to round up for free shipping. My brother-in-law gets home before I did so he came to the house and picked up the chewy.com box. I texted him to see if there was a chew toy in the box and he said, yes, Sadie (Snauzer) was chewing on it now. He assumed it was a complimentary toy from Chewy and not one I'd ordered for my pups. Gave us all a good laugh. I think Sadie gives the toy a paws-up.
