My super chewing and always playing GSD loves this toy. It is interactive for her as she tosses her head back to loop in her jaw and then drops it and does it again. Over and over! My only complaints are 1. It’s BROWN and blends into the floor and carpet! So unless you have white flooring you will most likely kick or step on this and it will hurt. And 2. It does get very sharp once chewed on. I accidentally bumped my knuckle on it and drew blood. The sharp edge hit me just right and broke the skin. But just like drum sets, guitars and crafting supplies that are human kids love and we hate, we put up with it because we love them. Love them so much that this is now my 2nd order for this toy and will replace the sharpened and chewed up one that we have now.
This was one of 3 different chews I bought from Chewy for my Pit Bull. She has zero interest in 2 of the 3, and this is one of the zero interest chews. I think part of the problem is the circular shape; the chew she pays a little attention to is bone-shaped. I'm disappointed, but grateful not to have had bad result like some of the reviewers.
She is a chewer, period. She loves to chew on all kinds of bones, treats you name it so I wanted to try something different and something that would last and not be a health hazard. She bites on it some but it has yet become her go-to. Every dog likes something different, maybe she'll get into it eventually.
Our wild and crazy Chessie (she's only 4) chews and eats ferociously. We have bought this before and it lasts months. This last trip to the vet, he said her teeth were perfectly clean. He asked what we used and was surprised we didn't brush he teeth. We didn't need to they were always clean.
I bought these for all 3 of my dogs, all 3 are very different with their chewing habits. Our power chewer had this breaking into pieces in 5 minutes. My othet two dogs were not interested in these much. Disappointed.
I was hoping that Razzell the power chewer would like it more but she doesn’t seem to understand how to hold it on her own. If I hold it then both girls try to chew on it together. The best thing is we can feel comfortable leaving in Razzell’s pen with her when we have to put her in for awhile. She gets bored and decides to naw on whatever she can find!
I tried so hard to get her interested in it because I thought it looked like it might last awhile. She would take it from me and then gently put it on the floor, no matter how many times I tried; maybe because it was TOO hard and smooth? I'll donate it to the shelter...I'm sure there's a dog that would like it.
Kaya has had this Nylabone for months now. She loves it! She chews on it frequently, but hasn’t broken it yet. She is a 100lb 10 month old malamute that lives chewing on just about anything. I gave her a Himalayan cheese chew for big dogs (75lb+) yesterday and it was gone in 90 minutes. Crazy chewer! I bought the largest size for her, and thought it might be too heavy, but she throws it around like it’s nothing. Don’t listen to the other reviews that say there is no flavor. That’s one of the perks of Nylabones, dogs get the flavor but humans don’t have to smell it. When dogs chew Nylabones, little bristles form, which is what helps keep their teeth clean. Nothing wrong with the bone! There are photos on the Nylabone website if you have zero knowledge of their great products. Kaya is the third dog of mine since 1980 that has been given Nylabone chews and never has an issue. Great products!
We have an energetic Australian Cattle Dog mix and she is crazy about chewing. We've had her for about a year and a half and we just ordered our 2nd one of these. All of the other "tough chewer" toys she blows through much quicker than anticipated and forget about stuffies, those are gone in less than a day most times. If you are looking for something that will redirect some of that chewing energy this is the bone for them. The bone will flake a bit but it is fairly fine and malleable when it does so we don't worry about it getting lodged in her stomach or anything. It will eventually get to a point where it starts looking flat and that's when we decided to throw it out.
we have 2 lab mixes and they both chew these chew toys, our oldest got a piece off and it embedded in his mouth between 2 teeth, aweful experience. We took both off of them, we will not purchase these again
