We have an energetic Australian Cattle Dog mix and she is crazy about chewing. We've had her for about a year and a half and we just ordered our 2nd one of these. All of the other "tough chewer" toys she blows through much quicker than anticipated and forget about stuffies, those are gone in less than a day most times. If you are looking for something that will redirect some of that chewing energy this is the bone for them. The bone will flake a bit but it is fairly fine and malleable when it does so we don't worry about it getting lodged in her stomach or anything. It will eventually get to a point where it starts looking flat and that's when we decided to throw it out.
I am a foster for Mastiffs. My most recent foster, Jury, is Neapolitan Mastiff. She is extremely active and is an AVID chewer with powerful jaws. While she loves playing with toys in general, she gets bored after a bit with them. This then leads to bored mischievous chewing…or rather “attempted” bored mischievous chewing. *I even caught her chewing in her sleep once I purchased this and it keeps her so engaged and happy. I actually had to buy a second one since she has hidden the first somewhere in the house! I did see some negative reviews, but I am so glad I looked past those! This has given her a positive chew method and highly recommend for families that have a chewer :)
My Emma is a super chewer and toys are hard to keep in the house because she destroys them. She absolutely loves this ring! It's big enough that she won't choke on it, but not too big to where its too heavy. Lately it has been her favorite toy to tote around the house! Def a must buy if you have super chewers at home!
My 2 dogs, a husky puppy & an adult Australian Sheepdog completely want something they can destroy. This is a very hard product & nicely made & presented. I'm going to pass it to my son for his 2 huskies. If, they pass it up, we'll just pass it on to some1 else who's dog will appreciate it.
I’ve bought this for my pit/lab mix since she was a puppy and it’s a lifesaver that she reaches for everyday . Only reason Id rate 4 stars is that after a few months of chewing it does get a little sharp to step on which is terrible to step on in the night, but my baby loves it so I’m happy to suffer
Our border collie is a voracious chewer, but I was hopeful with this. Unfortunately, after a few minutes with the toy, his chewing made bits stick up off of this, which were seriously dangerously sharp. I thought the Nylabone brand would be trustworthy to make toys that are safe for dogs. Unfortunately after just a few minutes this has to go in the trash, for our boy's safety.
I bought this for my 50-60lb dog and he was not interested in it. I've had the toy for a while thinking with his chewing problem that he'd gnaw on it a lot, I was wrong! Really wrong! He picks it up sometimes and then drops it to play with his spike ball. I feel like the heavy hard plastic feel it has was the reason my dog doesn't like it. I thought it'd be another material, maybe something rubbery, but no, it's just a rock! Also, I thought it had a scent to it and I was wrong again! Maybe if it was lighter and had a strong scent of steak or chicken he would've played with it more, but overall it's too dense, it smells weird, and it's made of plastic, hard plastic. it's now rotting away in the sand outside,,, I do not recommend this toy for those reasons!
We have dogs that are massive chewers and literally chew through everything. It’s kind of became a game in our house where everyone takes guesses on how long a toy is going to last… so far this one has survived and continues too! Our dogs have yet to chew anything off of it or chew through it. We highly recommend this one!
My dog Sophia love this from the minute I took it out of the box. She got so excited she’s been chewing on it nonstop it’s perfect for her teeth and gums but what I love best about it is Sophie is a very needy dog and I call her my glue sticks, but this item has helped so much when I need to do some cooking or get something done because she can just spend her time chewing on it and she looks like she’s having fun with it!! We love it
Our 7 month heeler puppy has very sharp teeth, so she chews through " tough " toys fairly easily. This one she's had for about a month and so far, there's some teeth marks, but it's still intact. I will admit, I figured she'll chew through it or at least bite some pieces off within the first day. I would recommend this chew toy for tough/aggressive chewers.
