I gave this to my 10 week old puppy thinking it was safe to ingest but after reading reviews stopped after she had chewed off a good corner of it. Too late. Just that tiny amount gave her diarrhea and vomit for a week. Had to change her diet and the vet checked her out telling me to never by Nyla products. ABSOLUTELY STAY AWAY!
Within 20 minutes my female shepherd had eaten half and went to the emergency room and vomited it back up.Thankfully we noticed how quiet she was and was able to save her life Words from the VET
My 7kg puppy destroyed the small one in a matter of hours and the medium in less than a day. I contacted the UK distributor, as the website says it breaks into pieces the size of a grain of rice which will harmlessly pass through - but it doesn't - it breaks into choking sized pieces! The distributor is not remotely interested and told me not to give it to my puppy if it breaks into bigger pieces - which it states it should not do in the first place! They also state that they have never had a problem with these chews - I must be really unlucky to have got 3 faulty ones then! Thankfully I was keeping an eye on him. I will be avoiding nylabone products in future.
This seemed to taste good and our dog chewed it happily but it has really sharp edges when chewed and made her gums bleed! Had to toss it out.
This was the worst product because my one year old puppy ripped it up within minutes and because it is a choking or lodging hazard, it had to be thrown away. Waste of money honestly.
NOOOOOO!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. My dog almost died from this. It broko and he swallowed the bone which clogged his intestine and had to do emergency surgery to save his life. As you already know if was a lot of money $$$$$$$. None of it was covered under the PET insurance we have. Please Do not give this to your dog EVERRRRRR!!!
I have a big chihuahua and a 6mo. staffordshire terrier puppy and they played with bone 5 min. Now it just sits on the floor. Money wasted for me........
My 7 mos old boxer mix (51 lbs) destroyed this chew toy in less than 3 minutes and swallowed some pieces before I noticed. Definitely DO NOT buy for older puppies. I guess this would be alright if your pup is under 3 months. The chicken flavor must be yummy seeing it was destroyed in no time.
I’ve had Nyla bones before that the dogs/puppies didn’t like but this one is a winner. Pup is 3 months old and 17 pounds and loves it.
We haven't tested this with a puppy yet, but the bone does pass the fingernail test! Soft but seems firm enough to last a while with a young puppy. The packaging says it can even be frozen to soothe teething gums. Excited to try this out!
