Short attention span
My puppy likes this! ...for about a minute at a time before he leaves it somewhere. He's a big fan of nylabone and other chews and will chew on those for hours, so I thought this would be a hit, but he loses interest quickly. It doesn't stay cold for too long, but that might be because I live somewhere warm. I definitely would not recommend this for bigger dogs/puppies because it's pretty tiny.
Perfect for puppies!!
My 15 week old LOVES this chew! She knows when I go to take it out of the freezer, and thinks it’s a treat! Pretty durable, but small so only useful for puppies, or smaller breeds. Highly recommend for teething puppies to keep them occupied.
Freezes quickly, too big for a Yorkie
This freezes quickly (the color change is fun and helpful for spotting when its thawed) but my 10-week-old Yorkie has no interest in it- I wonder if the grooves and nubs are just too big for her? Also, she shows little to no interest in all her scented Nylabone products, this one included, so I don't think that's a selling point. I get the concept here- the cold should alleviate sore gums during teething- it's just not sized well for my pup I guess.
Disappointed
Thought this was bigger and that I ordered the wolf size. This is so tiny my puppy might eat it
Teething puppy says this is not a chew toy
My puppy is extremely actively teething right now. Despite a plethora of beloved chew toys, she's also chewing on every single object in the house, including me. Nothing is spared. I caught her chewing a plastic bottle cap the other day, and my toes are raw from being chewed on daily. So imagine my surprise when this "chill and chew" turned out to be the one item in the house she refuses to chew. Couldn't that have been the sofa? Or my favorite skirt, which is now in the rag bin with a big hole in it? Sigh. Anyhow, frozen or room temp doesn't matter. Either way she refuses to go near this toy. I don't know what she thinks it is, but she's extremely confident it doesn't belong in her mouth. I'll trust her judgement.
Awesome teething toy
Our puppy absolutely loves this bone. It has been amazing as he is teething. I especially love that the bone can be put in the freezer for a cooling effect.
Getting teeth!
He loves it! Very chewable! Great to freeze! And, this guy is getting his adult teeth.
Great chew toy to redirect chewing behaviors
My 3 pound puppy really enjoys the texture of this chew toy. I like that I can freeze it so hopefully her teeth and gums feel better while chewing. It does thaw fairly quickly, but that doesn’t bother my puppy. It is a little big for my puppy, but what isn’t too big when your puppy is only 3 pounds. She loves to chew, and has sharp little teeth. I like this chew toy because it keeps her from chewing on me and my furniture. I would definitely recommend this chew toy for small and medium breed dogs. I don’t think it would hold up to a large breed chewer.
