Questions & Answers

8 Customer Questions

Is the starter Nylabine edible? My 9 week puppy is able to entirely chew into it with no problem, so I'm not entirely sure if that's ok based on other descriptions.
Answer by Chewy • Dec 30, 2017
The first 2 chews are not edible however the last chew that has the green background is edible.

Is it okay to give the first bone to my 8 week old puppy?
Answer by Chewy • Nov 20, 2017
This product is intended for puppies. However, we always encourage pet parents to supervise the puppy during chew time to avoid ingestion of toy pieces.

When to know when to throw away the nylabone?
Answer by Chewy • Jan 30, 2018
This product should be discarded once it's excessively worn, damaged, or too small for the dogs mouth.

At what age can I give my puppy the second bone thay says "Graduate to"?

GSP pup approved

My Mom bought these for me and gave me the "gentle" brown one as soon as I came home on 2/6/23. I love it. I loved chewing on fingers, so she would give the bone to me instead. She says it's almost time to throw it away, though, as soon pieces will splinter off. Yesterday she gave me the white bone. It's slippery, which makes it more challenging for me to hold onto. She knows that she will have to keep an eye on me and my bones because I do like to chew. I am 3 months old and love to chew. I prefer furniture, books, shoes, and blankets, but for some reason my humans don't like when I chew those, so these bones are good substitutes.

Bite the bone, not the fingers!

We love these toys for our 9 week old puppy. Whenever she is biting our fingers, we replace fingers with these bones and she is so happy. She prefers the brown bones over the white one now but I expect she will grow into the white one.

THUMBS DOWN!

This was one of my first purchases after I had placed my puppy deposit. I have read great reviews and this seems highly recommended. Unfortunately, once I got my pup, she had no interest in these. I thought maybe she'd come back to them..... NOPE. Even when I try to get her to chew on them, she won't even latch on. The wood one is as hard as a rock. The white is just HARD PLASTIC. The tan one is almost some sort of hardened gel?? I believe if she actually chewed them, the tan one would chip off. Not impressed & do not recommend at all.

Good Litmus Test

I purchased this because I was unsure that kind of chewer my dog was. Since this pack included a "Gentle" and an "extreme" chew, it was a good indicator of what chewing threshold he had. He was able to go through the "gentle" one in about an hour, and the "extreme" one still remains untouched. So, he's about in the middle, which is the Flexi-chew. The edible treat was also nice for him to enjoy~

liked that Nylabones are American made

very dangerous products... my little 1 yr old puppy chewed pieces off of these bones that could choke her and cause internal problems... all 3 bones were the same problem

Must Have!

If you have a puppy then these are a must. I like the different stages of strength, although none of them last long with my heavy chewer. She loves them

Corgi puppy loves them

We're still on the first bone so I can only vouch for that one, but this was one of the first things I gave my puppy when we first got home. He was so excited about it, he hopped up and down in his crate. He is a big fan. I will say it can be kinda hard for him to pick up sometimes. The shape is pretty smooth and sometimes hard to grip. Still, good purchase.

Be Careful!

The one Edible Chew may not be advisable for smaller dog breeds. My dog was eating it and I stepped out for a few minutes and when I returned the remainder was stuck sideways in her mouth and she could have choked. I would advise Nylabone to remove this product from the package for puppies.

3 mo puppy easily broke into this.

Safe? 3 mo puppy easily broke & ate parts of it. This has happened with 2 of their bone type plastic products

NOT for puppies who really like to chew

The brown non-edible nylabone did not last as puppy chewed and ate half of it before it was realized. Ended up very sick. DO NOT purchase if your puppy is an aggressive chewer.
