This is by far my dog's favorite Nylabone flavor! It's perfect for my dog, a 20lbs chihuahua/lab mix, and I wish Nylabone made more at this toughness level. She much prefers these to super hard "Power Chewer" level ones, and I prefer her being able to get smaller-than-rice sized pieces off vs. the risk of broken teeth! Even with these harmlessly sized pieces being chewed off, one of these still lasts about 2 months of at least an hour or two of determined chewing every night before I feel it's time to get a new one. To the people saying it's not tough enough, go up a toughness level! It's clearly labeled as not being "tough," not "power" chewers.
My dog didn't know what to do with this micro-bone. He tried holding it with his paws but it was so small it kept falling out of his paws and between his legs. He was getting frustrated trying to hold it different ways but it kept falling between his leg. He eventually just gave up and left it between his front legs where it kept falling. I bought a bone just like this before and it was A LOT bigger. He used to like it.
My heavy chewer (American Bully/American Bulldog) loves this "stick", which is great, because she loves sticks, but will eat them instead of chewing on them... She also does not usually like hard plastic chew toys, but prefers to quickly kill fluff-filled fabric ones, but she loves this one! My one complaint is that she is able to get pieces off of it, which she is most likely consuming, which is obviously not good for her...
Macy, my lab got this for her birthday last Dec 28. I would say she's a power chewers (I pretty much stick to Kong toys and Nylabone bones). I think I bought the medium, it 5-6" long. By far her favorite bone. 8 months later, she still enthusiastically chews it. I put it away for a week or two and give her her various other bones...which she'll chew a bit on and off. When this toy reappears, OH WHAT JOY!
My two dogs are huge chewers and it’s always difficult to find something that lasts and is safe. I love this branch chew because it doesn’t have any smaller parts to pop off during chewing and my dogs LOvE it!
My 45 lb., 1-yr old dog started chewing this, loved it, but she started vomiting and was lethargic two days later. This went on for an entire month, good days and bad days, to eventually leading to so much vomiting and not keeping anything down and eventually not snapping back to normal, so much that she became severely dehydrated, blood work was really bad, 4 days stay at vet’s. I threw this chew item away, and no more bad reaction. I cannot guarantee that the vomiting and lethargy were definitively caused by this chew, but it was the only change, and when removed from the equation, the problem also went away.
Winston really likes these. He will chew on it for a while throughout the week and then forgets about it for a bit and then obsesses over it again. Kinda nice because that means it lasts longer haha
Don't be like me, pay attention to the size. I ordered this as a Christmas gift for one of our dogs, and had to laugh when I pulled it out of the Chewy box. I neglected to look at the size chart, I ordered 'Wolf' size thinking it would be a larger size. Nope! Not the name I'd give a toy meant for dogs up to 35lbs, but at the end of the day it's on me for not reading the description. It's a pretty soft toy aimed for strong chewers, I think. It was purchased for a (at the time) year-old collie; he's always gnawing on toys for my power-chewer pittie, so I wanted something softer for his young teeth. It's definitely softer, and if I would've gotten a larger size it would probably work out. As I goofed and got the smaller one, it's a toy he only gets with supervision to ensure he doesn't get it into small pieces. They both love it though! My pittie doesn't get to play with it, he'd destroy it, but he sure wants to.
Overall a great product. My Aussie is such a Heavy Chewer that he has actually flattened the points of his teeth gnawing on these. But, he adores these large "sticks".
Wolf size is a lot smaller than I thought it was going to be. Even too small for my 25 lb corgi. Not impressed and will not be giving to my dogs
