Don't be like me, pay attention to the size. I ordered this as a Christmas gift for one of our dogs, and had to laugh when I pulled it out of the Chewy box. I neglected to look at the size chart, I ordered 'Wolf' size thinking it would be a larger size. Nope! Not the name I'd give a toy meant for dogs up to 35lbs, but at the end of the day it's on me for not reading the description. It's a pretty soft toy aimed for strong chewers, I think. It was purchased for a (at the time) year-old collie; he's always gnawing on toys for my power-chewer pittie, so I wanted something softer for his young teeth. It's definitely softer, and if I would've gotten a larger size it would probably work out. As I goofed and got the smaller one, it's a toy he only gets with supervision to ensure he doesn't get it into small pieces. They both love it though! My pittie doesn't get to play with it, he'd destroy it, but he sure wants to.
I was dubious about these, so I bought 1. When I saw that BOTH dogs chewed it, I bought a second, so they wouldn't have to share. (Resource guarding can be an issue here.) I've tried other Nylabone chews that just gathered dust, but not these. Many times I see both my girls chewing on one at the same time. A good choice for dogs who need and love to chew stuff.
My 7 month old pug really liked this chew toy for the first day or so, but he's lost interest in it entirely now. Hopefully he'll come back around, but I think the texture of the toy (extremely hard plastic) doesn't simulate "wood" in the way he'd like.
My dog loves to chew on regular sticks. I figured this would be a better alternative to a real stick. She loves it - it does leave little pieces of whatever it's made of all over the floor. But she's had it for a couple weeks and there is still plenty of "stick" left for her to chew
I bought this for my bull terrier that is now a year old, though she loved it, it was not a good purchase. She was chewing it through and quite fast and worse it gave her stomach issues affecting her poop to the point to need to go to the vet costing $270. Not good and do not recommend.
My lab is a heavy chewer and I thought this would hold up similar to the benebones which last her months. She loved this chew toy but it didn’t even make it two days and I trashed it. Pieces of the bark were missing and some areas were getting sharp. I would only recommend this for light chewers.
My dog did not touch this toy and a couple others with this material. I actually thought this was going to be two types of material when I bought it. It’s way too hard for any dog. It will break teeth and if they eat it. It probably will get stuck somewhere. I do not recommend this toy
I have a 10 month old Labrador and she is a chewer! She went to town on this Nylabone. It looks like a stick and must taste really good because she has chewed down almost to the center. Keeps her occupied. I need to purchase another one! Recommend for heavy chewers.
We have a soft coat wheaten terrier, who is seven months old. She loves the chew and after an hour of use was already peeling off little pieces. Part of this may be because the chew has small indentations, like a real wood twig would, and this facilitated her getting a better grip. It also could be that the chew is too soft for how much she likes to chew. Sadly, this one will need to go into the trash or recycled.
This bones is so small, doesn’t smell like maple bacon, dogs chewed it for maybe 5-10 minutes and it was completely destroyed. Our pomskys love to chew and this bone was supposed to be for strong chewers. Save you money don’t buy. Plus this bone is so very tiny.
