We use this very minimally to help our turtles shed scutes. We fed 2 times recently and our older girl already is close to shedding.
I use it for my RES turtle for the wheat germ oil. It smelled like he should be eating it right up, but he spits it out.
These are just what I needed to supplement my turtles diet to help with shedding shutes
I add this to my painted turtles diet. The co habitat with tetras gives both of them something to eat. It also helps with the turtle shedding its scutes.
This is the only brand that I use for my Goldfish. People just don't seem to understand that Goldfish diets change. As fry, Goldfish should only be on a carnivorous diet containing only live aquatic foods. As young Goldfish, they should have an omnivorous diet containing mostly greens and a small amount of Shrimp or live aquatic food. As adults, Goldfish are herbivorous and really should just be on a plant-protein diet containing no meat products. This brand (along with Tetra's Spring & Fall Diet) are the only brand that I feed my fish as adults, as they both do not contain any meat products. I currently only have a small female Ranchu Goldfish (only about 2" long) in a 29 gallon, and 1 female and 2 male Comet Goldfish (only about 3" long) in a 65 gallon, so unfortunately these cannot be used yet. I currently feed Omega One's small Goldfish pellets when they're about 1.5-4", the medium pellets when they're about 4-6", the large pellets when they're about 7-10". Once they are large enough to eat the medium pellets, I slowly replace these with the Wheatgerm sticks, as they're about the same diameter. Wheatgerm is also one of the best foods you could ever feed your fish (and yourself!), as it is very good for the digestive tract and contains many nutrience essential to a Goldfish' diet. Overall, I would highly recommend these sticks over all other brands or types, as this is the best and healthiest brand you could offer to your fish.
It’s getting to be the time of year to start switching over the koi diet to wheat germ. They love this food and I love chewy for carrying fish and pond supplies also!
I LOVE ALL OMEGA ONE PRODUCTS! THESE WHEAT GERM STICKS ARE OF EXCELLENT QUALITY - JUST LOOK AT THE INGREDIENTS! AN EXCELLENT FOOD FOR MY FISH DURING THE COLD WINTER MONTHS!
