This is the first carpet scratcher I could find that was affordable and the first one my boys loved!!! I put it on its side to replace their ramp they destroyed and its they're favorite thing! Buying more to put away for wben they destroy it! Highly recommend!
This works fine on it's side but it's too light to stand up. My kittens can easily knock it over. Needless to say I'm disappointed as I bought to go on the corner of the couch as it was advertised. Now I'll have to find another place to put it.
I was so excited when I saw these and the price was great. I ordered 3 of them, thinking I would place them around where he's been reaching up to stretch and then digging his claws in and getting told not to do that. So I put those in the spots and he sniffed them and walked away. So I moved them to several other places and...same thing . I rubbed cat nip all over them! Nope! He still wants nothing to do with any of them. I don't know where they're made? Or what he smells, but he likes to scratch and claw and has two, 5ft posts, he scratches and a smaller one. It's different material on those. That has to be it ! They are made well. I will be finding a cat who will use these to donate to. They're just collecting dust now 🫤.
The carpet material seems like it would be perfect for my kitty to scratch - but every time she tries the thing falls over on her. The plastic base is NOT sturdy at ALL and bends when even the slightest force is applied to the scratcher. It works fine laying on its side, but now it’s useless for protecting my couch.
Base needs to be heavier or wider because it tips over as soon as cat begins to scratch. We even put it against the couch to hold it up but no luck. Do not buy this one.
Both kittens ignored it so I sprayed with catnip oil. Still no interest. Just as well since the scratch carpet is on a base that is not well balanced; thus, requires either a heavy piece of furniture to secure it OR is best used on its side. It lacks stability and weight, even in that position. I'm considering donating this.
This is the biggest waste of money. It falls over very easily. It is only suitable for a kitten and then only if you stand it in a corner. Unfortunately I bought 2 before knowing this.
The carpet used on this post is very durable and it does not wear out easily. I use this post horizontally near the corner of my couch, since its vertical design does not seem to be very stable. However, it has helped decreasing the amount of scratching on the couch. My cat loves this scratching post when inclined! While playing with her bird wand, she hides behind the post and pounces on it. She jumps on the post, scratching it vigorously while playing, and also plays peek-a-boo behind it and ambushes me! She also loves to bunny-kick the post, and watching her this happy and excited makes me happy as well :)
Got it fast.satisfied with it and my cat likes it.
When stood up vertically, these are not sturdy enough for the cat to scratch without pulling it down. Very disappointed.
