After performing stress tests on these leashes, the Lightweight can hold up to 305 pounds. The Medium Weight can hold up to 426 pounds. The Heavyweight can hold up to 526 pounds.
I have a long-haired dog. Are the links fully welded? Cracks in the weld will pull her fur. Thank you!

Great pit stop tool

I have Velcro dogs who will do anything to escape confines and be beside me no matter what. This was further proven to me one day when I needed to grab a drink from the convenience store and tied my girls out for what would be no longer than 3-5 minutes. Luckily they were well behaved and caused no issues, but I was notified by bystanders that my dog had eaten their leash and was now sitting directly at the door. Sigh. This leash has given me much peace of mind of that no longer happening. I got the heavy 4 foot lead and it’s just enough while walking too. My dogs understand this leash means they may have to sit idly somewhere, and no longer contend even attempting to mouth at it. Thanks for the inventory, Chewy!

Please read before buying

I purchased the medium 6ft leash because my puppy chews on his leash whenever he gets the chance. This leash is well suited for the purpose. However, it is hard to get a grip on this leash as it is slippery and even worse in the rain. Today, my puppy got spooked by an umbrella on the sidewalk and ran onto road. The leash slipped right through my hand as it was raining and I had zero grip on the metal. Thankfully nothing happened but I definitely would not recommend for dogs that are not extremely calm.

Handle easily snapped

My dog bites through leashes so this seemed like the perfect fix. Right after getting it, she pulled toward a smell and the leather handle snapped open.

Pretty but not practical

It does it’s job but it’s uncomfortable to grab on. Better for showing dogs rather than an everyday walk. The chain gets tangled in itself very easily. I have a German shepherd puppy and was going to use it for training but it does have some weight and doesn’t seem very sturdy.

Light and durable

Having this leash for out bull terrier guys. Personally dislike heavy leash. This one is light but still sturdy to use for ours 75 lbs guys with ease.

Good but not Great

This was purchased to solve a problem. Our Great Dane puppy ( not really a puppy anymore because she is now almost 16 months) has chewed through several other leaches. Both hers and our Great Pyrenees. While she was unable to chew through the leash she chewed through the handle on this one. That effectively renders it useless. Making it so that you could replace the handle would be a very good thing. Now I have buy a new one and am left an otherwise working leash that is unusable. If you know how to replace the handle I am all ears. It is overall made well and appears that it would hold up well.

Excellent quality

Best made leash EVER. My dog was chewing and fussing with his nylon leash and not taking care of business. This leash did the trick.
