DACHSHUND REVIEW After a month of use…

Ok so I’ve had this harness for a little over a month and it is by far the best fitting harness I’ve tried for my 14.5 lb MALE MINI DACHSHUND. After a month of use, it looks the same as the day I got it, the straps are still perfectly in tact, no frays or pulls. It’s easy to clean and my dog doesn’t freak out when I go to put it on over his head! For past reference, I find it really difficult to find harnesses that are made with the majestic dachshund body in mind. I have had terrible luck with other harnesses that have the Velcro spots for the removable service patches in the past. They always end up having a strap that cuts off too close behind his front legs, into his little arm pits or the actual harness isn’t long enough for his body and slides all over his upper body. That being said, I wish the adjustable straps that go around the belly on this harness went just a little tighter. I had to keep tightening the strap closest to his little male part so that it doesn’t get peed on. So I had to try and fold the straps a few extra times and use the very convenient velcro attachments that are fixed to the end of the straps, to keep the excess from flapping around when tightened all the way. I REALLY wish they had an XXS, it probably would have been perfect. In conclusion, if your dog is around or below 14lbs and thin, this probably won’t fit snuggly. Even tho it’s a little loose in places, I still prefer it to every other harness I’ve tried. I may even try and cut the straps and sew them smaller if I have to. If an XXS becomes available, I will definitely buy that one.

A little big for my small dog

My dogs chest measurements are just over the minimum but this vest is still a little too big. The straps are so long that we've had to rig it to not hang down so much and it requires adjustment every time he wears it. It does work on him though.

So cool and sturdy!

I love the looks and functionality. I'm tiny and it's far too bulky to be comfortable. I wish I could order an XXS with smaller snaps and straps.

Great while it lasted …

I had this harness for 3 months and it broke on my today. Very disappointed. Considering this brand is pretty pricey and well recommended - I am deeply disappointed that the harness broke while I was walking my dog. Endangering himself while we walked. Highly disappointed in this brand and the longevity of it.

Odd fit for Small breed males

Great little tactically harness and seems to be really well made. Velcro/hook and loop is really nice and spacious. I agree with the other reviewers that the loops are pretty large for such a small vest, large enough to cause small breed leashes incompatible. Smokey is a Chihuahua/terrier and small, the harness takes up so much of his body that he does not have full movement and the back buckle is basically on his parts. He has no trouble going potty in this but number 2 is difficult for him since he can’t crouch in it. This vest is going to be strictly work attire for Smokey.

Great harness

A neighbor of mine uses this brand for his 3 dogs and I had to try it. I love the harness besides 2 minor faults. I wish the circles/hooks where the leash goes were thinner or maybe a smaller one to attach his tags. I have to put a collar on him along with the harness to make sure he has his tags if he was to run away. I also wish the straps where the clips go weren't so long that they hang. Besides that, the quality is great and so is the price when you catch these on sale. The size was perfect for my 1 year old 30 pound mini schnauzer terrier mix dog. I love the handle on top to grab him to separate play since he does play with 5-6 dogs daily. I wanted to make sure I could grab control of him in situations where I have to separate him. Happy with my purchase.

very cool harness

we love this tactical harness on our boston terrier puppy. he is only 6 months but looks so cool in this already. he wears the xs and should grow into nicely. we definitely recommend this product

great harness for my puppy!

I got the XS for my 8.8lb Norwich Terrier puppy. He just finished 2 weeks of training and it is perfect for those training moments where I don’t want people interrupting our sessions. He looks like a little baddie and it fits him perfectly!
