Does this need to be refrigerated once opened since it is shipped refrigerated?

This food does not require refrigeration. Exposure to air, light, hot temperatures and humidity speeds up the rate at which foods degrade. To limit these effects, keep the food stored in original packaging and store in a cool, dry location. Ideally, after opening this dry food it should be consumed within 6-8 weeks of opening the bag.
