What the diference between the colors? The doctor tell to use the one more strong, he prescribed the pink one. Penny needs a strong one. Thank you
Answer by ChewyOct 10, 2018
While both are fairly similar, the Optixcare Dog & Cat Eye Lube Plus Lubricating Gel, also includes hyaluron.

Our directions say 1 drop per eye twice a day. These are both lubes, not drops...Is there actually Drops available?
Answer by ChewyMar 01, 2020

Great product

I use this regularly for my senior cat's eyes. He's had dry eyes, ulcers, glaucoma, and a host of other eye issues, but this helps keep them healing well. Sometimes it can be tricky to get the right amount to dispense at the right time, but it works well enough. I will keep purchasing this product. Thanks, Chewy!

Wonderful stuff!

If your cat(or dog) has any kind of recurring problem with dry eyes for whatever reason, I would never be without these eye gel drops on hand. With the hyaluronic acid formulation, these gel drops were able to bring almost immediately relief to my cat's herpes virus dry eye flare up, especially with his right eye. He had thick goo stuck to his eyeball that wasn't your normal mucous and he didn't have the tear production to flush it away. We were prescribed Optixcare in the green tube, but I quickly saw this was not the one he needed. After doing some research, I found the Optixcare Plus and showed it my vet and we discussed carefully the plan to switch over. Once it arrived, I began using on Simon about every 2-3 hours (on schedule with his other eye meds). With the first time use, I already saw relief, the HA instantly draws moisture into the conjunctiva. Within 24 hours, his eyes were no longer pinkish red, but the conjunctiva had gone back to a healthy white. We gradually weaned down the use of drops along with his medication schedule until we were using them on an as needed basis and continue to use them on an as needed basis, even as I'm writing this review. My cat had a bad eye ulcer several years ago and had to see an eye specialist in a big city. These newer type of drops with the hyaluronic acid weren't available then. They speed up the healing process so fast, it's truly amazing and there are other ones that are for even more intensive, more serious eye care. Healing time can be half what it used to be some cases. You need a prescription for those and I will be able to get them through my vet here and using Chewy's pharmacy, instead of going to Dallas, unless it's absolutely necessary to make a trip up there. These are a lifesaver, don't mess around with over the counter drops that are waste of your money. On a side note: I've read other's comments that this is messy to use. I'll do my best to describe the consistency of the product. It is a liquid/gel type of drop. If you will hold the tube with the tip in a downwards position in your hand and give it a gentle shake or two before using it on your pet, the product will be at the tip, of tube, ready to dispense and won't all come down at once. I've had years of experience using eye drops and they can all have different viscosities and the drops are different when they come out of the little bottles or tubes. It takes a bit of practice and time when working with these types of medications and a little patience goes a long way too. I know our fur babies aren't always the most cooperative when they are not feeling well and we're giving them medications, especially in their eyes. You have to try a method that works for you both. Ask your vet to show you more than one way to give meds, or a trusted experienced friend perhaps to help you. Maybe a different approach than you've been doing, start fresh. Best wishes for complete healing.

Great lube, bad container

This is great as an eye lubricant but the manufacturer should change the bottle design as most of the product is dumped out during application. There is no controlling the dispenser, it free fall pours out, wasting most of the liquid. After my pet had surgery I had to buy double the amount to make up for this design flaw.

Diabetic dog eye care

This is a very good product but a bit difficult to get in my dog's eye. Could be because she shuts her eyes so tightly. But consistency seems a bit thick.

Works great

Much easier to deal with then the “regular” (not plus) version. More wet so that it actually can be dropped into the eye and my dog tolerates the feeling alot better

Great product

Was buying from our vet who recommended getting it from Chewy for cheaper. I will be using this for the rest of my pugs life. It protects his eyes and that's all I needed to hear. Don't be discouraged on the reviews saying hard to administer/air in tube. All you need to do is shake it first to make sure the gel gets down to the applicator tip. No air bubbles. Highly recommend!

Great product

This has worked wonderful for my French bulldog dry eye, not as much infection goop in her eye. Very pleased and easy to apply
