We put this on our cat's kibble and/or wet food and warm it up, and she loves it. It encourages her to eat the rest of her food, which is usually something she struggles with. We used small amounts for a couple of days, then poured the rest into an ice cube tray and froze it. We wrapped the cubes up in parchment paper and put them in a freezer bag and she likes them just as much when we've warmed them back up again.
I was hoping my cat would take to this because of her CKD and frequent bouts of nausea but unfortunately she took one sniff and walked away
Since this product is good for only 3 days after opening, it'd be great if this came in a pack of smaller containers (maybe 12) in order to help reduce product waste for those that require syringe feeding.
my cat has stage 2 KD and this has helped him put on some more weight and stay hydrated!!! i mix it with his CKD hills wet food and he loves it.
This product worked well and my kitten loved the taste of it.
Unable to use it .. wish it could have been returned smelt awful.
I wish the RF formula would come back in stock, it's the only "treat" I can reliably get my elderly kitty with CKD to eat lately (and thus sneak his medications/supplements into him). He ignored it the first day I tried, but by day two it was his favorite. I think he's having trouble with thicker wet foods, even the lickable puree tubes. He can still eat his dry food thankfully, and he still drinks plenty of water, but this stuff really seems to add to his quality of life. He actually played with a toy for the first time in weeks yesterday! I'm going to have to buy this elsewhere for now, but once it's back in stock I highly recommend it. (I haven't tried the GI version since it does contain phosphorus, but one of my cats has occasional bouts of diarrhea so I'll probably give it a try soon too.)
My male cat, Cody, suffers from stomatitis. His immune system is poor. Getting him to eat can be tough. I pour some of the Oralade on his canned food, heat it a bit in the microwave, and he polishes it off! He will drink this just plain in a bowl. I ordered two more and am putting it on auto delivery.
My 17 year old has RF and I'm giving her subcutaneous fluids but she reached a point where she dropped weight, looked dehydrated and was refusing to eat when I franticly searched for a solution - what a blessing this product is! She like it from the start. After her first bowl she began to want food again and by the next day her eyes looked brighter and she began acting more like a cat again. My kitty has been on an anti-acid and anti-nausea medication along with nutritional supplements that support the kidneys (such as Epakitin and Renal Support) but these only do so much. She has felt so good. I even pour a bit on the food she eats. Thank you for helping my cat feel better and live a better life.
Please don't overlook this if your cat is in renal failure. My cat LOVES them frozen into icecubes. She licks them til they are gone but will not drink it as a broth so if there is any left, I refreeze for later that day or give her a few droppers full. She will lick this even when she is off her food. Makes her feel better, too!!
