Zymox Dental Gel is a clear gel form that provides maximum enzyme contact to inhibit harmful odor-causing bacteria and remove plaque biofilm. This gentle formulation relieves, soothes and protects mouth tissue against dryness. It is also great for cats who don't drink much water.
Protects against bad breath, plaque and periodontal disease
Natural, multi-complex enzyme system that dissolves plaque biofilm & inhibits odor-causing bacteria to help balance oral flora
I've been using Vibrac paste and Petkin wipes on my cat (a kidney patient) for a few years now. Due to her medical condition, I no longer have her teeth professionally cleaned at the vet office in order to avoid anesthesia. Her plague and tartar have accumulated so badly despite my cleaning effort and her gums are often a little red. This is the only thing that works on her teeth and I'm so grateful that such product exists. Her gums are back to normal now and her tartar seems to be in control. This doesn't remove plaque but nothing does (not even Plague Off which I've tried and still gives her occasionally).
It's not easy to get this in a cat's mouth
on Sep 7, 2018
My vet recommended this product to help keep our cat's mouth clean and to hopefully avoid a dental procedure. My cat's teeth are very sharp. I would not attempt to use this product again and feel my money was wasted. I wish I would have bought the water additive instead.
Clean teeth without fuss

I've been using Oratene Gel for over 2 years to maintain teeth on 2 adult retired racing greyhounds. This is the first effective and easy to use dental home care product I have found. Lay in a 1 inch bead between lip and gum. The hound licks the gel around.
This product actually reduced the candy corn staining seen on the canine teeth. After professional cleaning, teeth stay white.
I follow cleaning with a high value treat given only for completing cleaning so I get nagged daily to clean teeth at the proper time.
Cats enjoy the taste

I apply some to a fingertip & gently rub it on their gums. They're not crazy about the rubbing, but they tolerate it for the taste.
No Go On Oratene!
on Aug 21, 2018
My cat got a whiff of the smell and was gone like a shot out of a dead sleep. Oratene really is for dry mouth and does not seem to be a true toothpaste, so I’ll try a meat-flavored product instead.
Extra help for pesky build-up
on May 11, 2018
Even though I brush my dog's teeth nightly, there's still some trouble spots of pesky tartar/plaque buildup on her rear molars. Probably due to most of the chomping occurs when eating her kibble. I added this gel and it helped reduce what her toothpaste wasn't able to completely remove.
Not a 100 percent sure of Dry Mouth....
on Jun 8, 2018
However my cocker spaniel has angry red gums and this product appears to give him some relief. i have had him checked by 2 excellent veterinarians with no definite diagnosis. My last Vet told me to brush his teeth with an enzymatic tooth paste and I have along with using Oratene that i discovered at Chewy. He likes the Oratene and lets me rub it on the affected area on the roof of his mouth as well as around the outside of the teeth.
Oratene a must

This product is easy to use and makes a difference in your dog's dental hygiene.
Seems to work well

One of my cats was having some redness of his gums. Because of his breed, his mouth is too small for even the smallest toothbrush. I alternate using this with brushing his teeth with another toothpaste and my finger. It seems that his gums are looking better and he doesn't mind the taste.
Not sure about this yet
on Jun 11, 2018
It has helped with his breath but still waiting to see if it does anything for his plaque buildup and overall gum health. We'll see. Not sure it's any better than the CET I've been using for years.
