Dental Aid
By dben on Dec 30, 2020
I was worried my cats would not drink once I added this to their water, so I only purchased the smaller bottle, but there seems to be no issue with it. I have only been using the product to reduce tartar for a few weeks and will add a new comment after we take the cats back to the vet. I'm hoping it will help us avoid the costly and painful dental scraping my other cat had to go through. So far, so good..... I have no issue with mixing the product (like some people have in other reviews) because I squirt the solution into a cup and fill the cup with water to mix it well. We use it in a large, square ceramic water dish with an automatic pump. Optimistic!
By JennBNYC on Jan 2, 2021
We adopted a greyhound with moderate buildup on several teeth and this (combined with some other things) seems to be making a difference. Not sure how much is attributable to the Oratene, but the improvement has definitely seemed to have sped up since we started using it. Plus, it hasn't affected the drinkability of the water at all for her -- and there are no other issues either.

Give It Time; It Works!
By Good4Doggy on Dec 6, 2020
I have a small dog; a papillon and you can't get in that small mouth to keep after tarter. The skin on their cheeks is as close as you can get to the teeth creating that perfect place for tarter to cling. I've used this product for over a year and there is no buildup on her teeth. I faithfully add it to each new bowl of water. I am so pleased and I'm sure she is too. You may think it is pricey but it surely is cheaper than dental work.

Works Great!
By Robby on Dec 31, 2020
Oratene is a great product! Since using it, our pets have been getting wonderful dental reports from our vet. She recommends it and we can see why. Both our dog and cat drink it in their water easily and we do not have to bother with brushing their teeth (an impossible task with our cat.)

Cats avoided their water
By Dusty on Oct 9, 2020
I purchased this in hopes my cats would have better oral hygiene. Per the instructions, I put some in their water. My cats wouldn’t drink their water. I tried for three days and they avoided drinking their water. I tested my theory that it was the oratene by placing a bowl of water without the Oratene in it and they drank that water. So unfortunately this product will not be useful for my cats.

my picky corgis love it
By Christy on Sep 16, 2020
I have some picky pups. I’ve tried all sorts of water additives in the past and usually they sniff the water and walk away. I’m assuming this one doesn’t have much of a taste because they will happily drink their water even with this added in it. I tried an experiment where I had one bowl with regular water and this one added to another bowl and they all chose the bowl with this additive in it so I guess they like it. Their breath has no odor too which is nice since they like to chew smelly bully sticks.

No Brainer
By JanD on Sep 16, 2020
This is a no brainer in my opinion! Seems like every vet wants our animals to all come in for a "dental" which entails putting them under for a cleaning. My cats have been using this for some time and it certainly seems to help! So easy, just a pump per water bowl, and that's it. It's a small price to pay versus a minor "surgery" and it seems to be helping with not as much tartar on the teeth and gums. Daily use is simple.

This product is excellent, you must wash the water container more often but definitely worth the efforts, product does what it says it will do.

Fresh breath
By Nanaterri on Aug 17, 2020
My cat has tarter in her teeth and another one has bad breath. My vet recommended that I buy some kind of supplement to put in their water. I bought this so far so good the bad breath has disappeared it may take awhile for the tarter because we just started using it.
