Description

The OraVet Dental Hygiene Chews for Dogs proves that daily dental care can be a positive experience for your dog! Since most furry pals hate brushing, these tasty chews deliver an alternative way to clean their mouth. The only oral care of its kind to use delmopinol, it works to loosen and dislodge plaque as your dog happily chews away. And what’s more, it actually forms a barrier that protects against the bacteria that leads to plaque and calculus buildup—all resulting in fresh, kissable breath for your beloved pup. Just one per day keeps the plaque and bad breath away!

Key Benefits

  • Daily dental chew works to loosen and dislodge plaque to help break it away from teeth.
  • The only dental chews for dogs to use delmopinol, which forms a barrier that blocks bacteria and the formation of plaque and calculus.
  • Recommended by vets and highly dissolvable for easy digestion with a great taste that dogs will love.
  • Studies show that after nearly 2 months of use, dogs have 42% less plaque, 54% less tartar, and halitosis is reduced by 52.5%.
  • Just one chew a day keeps the plaque away! At-home dental care is an important step in your dog’s overall health.

Additional Details

Some dogs may experience a sensitive stomach after ingestion. Due to certain ingredients (Chloraphyll, parsley flakes, alfalfa), some dogs may experience green colored diarrhea. Not intended for dogs under 6 months old. Do not administer OraVet Dental Hygiene Chews to cats.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

My dog really likes OraVet Chews. Is it safe to give more than 1 per day?

We do not recommend giving your dog more than 1 OraVet Chew per day.

How long will it take my dog to finish a daily OraVet Chew?

Each dog chews at a different pace, so each OraVet Chew will last for a different amount of time.

Can unfinished OraVet Chews be saved for later use?

No. If left out, OraVet Chews can harden. So if your dog doesn't finish eating one, it should be thrown out.

How do I know what size OraVet Chews are right for my dog?

Dogs come in different sizes. And so do OraVet Chews. There are 4 sizes in all, for dogs 3.5 - 9 lbs, 10 - 24 lbs, 25 - 50 lbs, and over 51 lbs. Ask your vet for help if you're not sure how much your dog weighs.

Why is it important to have my dog’s teeth cleaned regularly?

Like people, dogs need regular dental cleaning to remove the plaque and tartar buildup that can cause bad breath and gum disease.

I feed my dog dental diet or dental chews already. How are OraVet Chews different?

OraVet Chews have a unique dual - action mechanism that prevents bacterial attachment — reducing halitosis (bad breath) at the source. The action of chewing works to loosen and dislodge plaque to help it break away from teeth. Then, the extra ingredient, delmopinol, works by disrupting the plaque matrix and forms a barrier, preventing new bacteria from adhering to the teeth.

  • They BEG for these

My 4-year old dog just had her teeth cleaned at the vet. The vet offered samples of OraVet and other products she suggested we try to keep Ursula's already nice teeth in good shape - and prevent any need for her younger "brother's" teeth to be cleaned.. Ursie and her brother Wrigley went NUTS for these. Check. My vet likes how they work. Check. I get a few moments of peace while they chew. Check. All good. Yes, the dogs poop green sometimes. That's okay. My only complaint - apparently, these chews are TOO TASTY. I have to hold Ursie's harness so she doesn't steal her brother's chew...and she is the calm dog!

  • No more bad breath

Our little Pug has horrible breath due to teeth issues. We have his teeth cleaned every 2 months, which means he has to be anesthetized, and I don't like him to go through the procedure. He also ends up having another tooth or two pulled. I tried this product in the hopes it will help with tarter & other issues. Our Vet hasn't seen him yet, so not sure if it's helping with that problem. However, the first time he chewed one of the bones his bad breath disappeared. I do have to give him one every day to deal with his breath, but it really works every time. I wanted to give 5 stars, but had an issue with the green coloring in the bone leaving a stain on the rug. • Should be softer

After feeding my dog one of these her breath instantly was better and I can see less tar on her teeth. Only downside is they are really hard to chew. I couldn't even break them apart with my hands so I had to cut them into tiny pieces. I bought the right size and my dog normally doesn't have a problem chewing things, she's still only 2. If you buy these you will probably have to cut them up for small dogs.

These chews were recommended by my vet. I have been giving one every other day; noticed with the very first one, better breath in each of my 4 dogs. They really have to spend some time chewing, so I feel like that is a big benefit to help clean their teeth. Definitely recommend these; I have 4 dogs of 3 different sizes- small, medium and large. They all spend a couple minutes chewing and enjoying.

  • OraVet treats

    By on

My friend who is a vet teck recommended these for my dog and was purchasing them from the vet at about $15 more than Chewy's cost. My dog really loves them and hopefully they are as advertised and will keep her teeth in better condition to prevent a few trips to the vet for her teeth care. Delivery from Chewy was prompt and I was able to set up a once in a month delivery so I do not run out.

  • My dog loves them!

My goldendoodle fractured a major tooth and had to have a restoration, so no more hard treats for her. The dog dentist recommended these treats for her and she LOOOOOVES them. She has had her teeth cleaned twice already (at 5 years old), so I had to get serious about her dental hygiene. She had always been resistant to tooth-brushing, but now that she knows it is followed by one of these chews, she eagerly and patiently sits through it in order to receive her beloved chew. She literally prances around the room and celebrates once she gets it. They are a little pricey, but I’d much rather keep her teeth and breath fresh and clean without the risks of repeated anesthesia. So far, so good! • Oravet Chews work wonders

I was surprised that when I went to my vets that they were no longer purchasing this product any longer. They said that not many clients were using the product. I loved this product and decided to go online to see who was selling it and found it on Chewy. I was so happy to find them there and would recommend them highly.

  • Great Treats

My dogs love these treats. My vet recommended these for my Wire Fox Terrier who has above average tartar buildup. He's only 4 and has needed his teeth cleaned twice already (my Westie was 10 before she needed hers done for the first time). I was skeptical at first because I have tried lots of other dental chews along with dry dog food and chew toys and nothing has every really helped. When I found these on Chewy for such a great price, I figured we'd give them a try. I wish I had taken before pictures because ... WOW. What a difference these have made! Not only do the pups love them but his teeth are nice and pearly white now. • My Fingers Are Crossed

My chihuahua just had dental work done that included two extractions. He's a rescue who came to me full of fear. He's quite particular about what he allows or doesn't allow me to do to him at this point. Brushing his teeth is out of the question for now. My vet has highly recommended the OraVet Chews. Tiny breeds are predisposed to dental issues, and I'm trying to avoid future problems. "Harry" is enjoying the Chews and I'm grateful for them. Just as an FYI, his stool has a green color as a result of the green Chew, but the stool is properly formed so I'm not concerned.

We brushed our schnauzer's teeth from adulthood to 5 a few times a week... thought we were doing enough. He lost a number of teeth to gum disease at 6 years old....since then we gave up on brushing and give him 1 of these as a treat at night (he love's them). Three years and no more tooth loss. I'm sold.
