  • Edible Bone (5−10%) Bone, marrow and cartilage provide calcium, phosphorus, glucosamine and chondroitin without any artificial additives.
  • Organ Meat (10−15%) Fresh liver and tripe are richly nourishing sources of vitamins and minerals, including iron, zinc, and vitamins A, B and D.

This is by far the best quality dog food you can purchase. Let me Tell you why. It's grain, corn, wheat , soy, tapioca , potato, sweet potato, and rice free. Potatoes and rice can cause yeast issues and they leave them out. Very hard to find in other brands. They have their own grass fed, free-range, local farners. It's antibiotic, hormone and GMO free. The fish are wild caught or responsibly farmed. The farmers sell exclusively to them with the exception of a few that sell to high end restaurants. Yes, the meat is human grade! They never outsource, meaning they have their own facility to make the food and do not let anyone else make the food. They never outsource, meaning they have their own facility to make the food and do not let anyone else make the food. Big reason why many companies have recalls. In addition, they test and hold every batch to prevent recalls! They've never had a recall! All the meat arrives within several days of harvest and 2/3 is put directly into the food. The other 1/3 is flash frozen , different from regular freezing. This preserves as many nutrients as possible. They use whole prey ratios . Meat, ORGAN, CARTILAGE , AND BONE. Just like in the wild. The carbs they use are kept to a minimum and are low on the glycemic index. They burn slow for lasting energy. Our 60 pound Doberman Pinscher eats only 2.75 cups of Orijen per day. She is VERY active too. A little goes a long way. They have left out the poor quality fillers. Lastly they use many botanicals like rosehips and sarsaparilla root...which all have their purposes from detoxifying the body to strengthening the immune system. Topped off with probioitics at the end! Our pup looks like an oil slick in the distance, and by FAR the shiniest Doberman we have seen ..no yeast issues, nothing. Her health is at its peak! Take a look at the attached photos. She has aren't it since 8.5 weeks old! Will never feed anything else, and working at a specialty food store, I saw many people who say the food completely turned their dog's health around. It really is worth the money and you truly know you are putting the absolute BEST in your dog! … more

  • Customer service to the rescue on Origen order!

    By on

When placing my first order st Chewy.com, I accidentally ordered CAT food instead of dog food. When I saw my error in my confirmation email the following morning, I called customer service. The custom service rep was amazing. Although the cat food had already shipped, the rep credited the cost back to my account, recommended that I donate the cat food to my local humane shelter and shipped off my dog food order free of charge. Two weeks later, the carb-free Orijen diet has significantly improved my dog's health by eliminating the allergic yeast in my dog's gut and the yeasty skin patches on her hind quarters. It's a great product... just like the quality of Chewy.com's customer service!

Our German Shepherds have been on Orijen since we brought them home. In th case of our female, the breeder started her on the Orijen puppy food for large breeds before we brought her home. After switching her to the adult food at around 11 months old we noticed she was scratching a lot. My wife did some research and found that some GSD suffer from a chicken allergy. A few weeks ago we started switching her to the Six Fish formula, starting with about a 25/75 mix the first week, then 50/50, then 75/25, then finally 100% of the Six Fish around week four. We have already noticed she doesn't scratch and bite at herself as much. The difference is significant. I'm not knocking the adult formula at all, I just think the Six Fish might be a better fit for our (now) 15 month old GSD. … more

  • Great Quality, Smaller Poops!

    By on

I have a 6 month Newfie puppy and just switched to this food from the food the breeder was giving us. I used the dog food review website and this was rated 5 stars for quality. The ingredients are great and there are no added fillers. The Six fish formula is also great as a lot of pups are allergic to chicken and grain formulas. On our other food our pup was going #2 close to 6 times a day and they were HUGE! After switching to Orijen we are down to 2 and they are much smaller. We also feed half the amount that our old dog food suggested so while they food is more expensive, it lasts a lot longer

  • Great for GSDs! Expensive though!

I have a now 2 year old male GSD that is very active and trains/plays twice per day. He has been on this food since he came off puppy formula (about 18 months now), and the results are amazing compared to our first GSD. Our last dog we had 13.5 years and he pretty much went through all of the brands (Science Diet, Nutro, Royal Canin, etc.), and his coat was never as amazing as what we have now! That has to be by far the biggest reason we keep buying this. Our old pooch had dry skin, hair was always just falling off (not that the new one doesn't shed but it seems dramatically less), etc. Our new dogs coat is so soft & silky, and we get comments all the time on how good he looks/feels (even the I have a now 2 year old male GSD that is very active and trains/plays twice per day. I will say the food is pungent so we have a sealable bucket for it, but its not so bad you want to throw up or anything. We feed in the kitchen so we definitely don't feed him when its time for us to eat (we learned the hard way). My only gripe is the cost, and worse they cut the bag weight by 3.6 lbs so its now even more. One final comment on our selection process...when we were doing research we were impressed that we could pronounce all of the ingredients which I couldn't say for several others. … more

  • Orijen 6 Fish Grain- Free Dry Dog Food

    By on

My Goldador loves this food. We have tried Original and Regional Red, but have the best results with 6 Fish. With Regional Red she had stomach issues at first and her stools were always large and loose. With 6 Fish her stools are smaller and firm that leads me to believe she is digesting more nutrients of her food.

  • just not for us

I switched all three of my dogs gradually. Two golden retrievers and one English bulldog. One of my goldens has allergies and we wanted to see if this would help. Unfortunately it didnt for us. Our English had horendous gas and i know you are thinking they all do, this was horrific lol. We did a lot of research and loved the company and everything about them. We tried for a couple months and had to switch back. My golden will be getting the allergy test next week. English is less toxic now. I wanted it to work out badly since a lot of reviews were awesome.

  • Worth the price

My 11 year old cocker/dachshund mix has always had firm poos. I rescued her 2 years ago and I have bought 3 different kinds of high end foods to try to help. Finally this food makes her poo come out easy. May be tmi, but it's nice seeing healthy stools finally come out of her. Her two puppies love it too and already 6 fish has improved their skin. They are boston terrier mixed with her (she was found pregnant and sick and we kept her and both puppies) and one of them got the boston thing where she was losing her fur. It's only been 3 weeks and I already notice improvement. Can't wait to see how they are all doing months from now on their new favorite food!!

  • Going to stick with Orijen Sr - better mix for 7.5 yr Lab

    By on

I've been testing a number of 5 & 6 star foods. Pup is very active - 30+ hunting days this past season and normally at least 1-2 hrs of drills (exercise/training) per week - daily 45 min walks. Neutered UK male - Very healthy but heavy. Been trying to get a little weight off without skimping on fuel he needs. Sr. mix is about the best I have found. Quitting the testing. Chewy experience is fantastic!
