Biologically Appropriate Commitment

Dogs and cats are built like their ancestors, and that's why all of Orijen's recipes are based on five biologically appropriate principles. They start with a variety of unmatched fresh meat inclusions that are rich in protein. Orijen includes whole prey ratios that naturally provide the nutrients your dog needs. Carbs are limited, but there are plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and cleansing botanicals.

Orijen Dry Dog Food

Whole Prey Foods

In the wild, dogs consume the whole animal to meet their full dietary needs, so Orijen recipes incorporate three whole prey elements in specific ratios.

  • Meat (70−85%) High meat inclusion means all amino acids are provided in natural form, without any synthetic supplements.
  • Edible Bone (5−10%) Bone, marrow and cartilage provide calcium, phosphorus, glucosamine and chondroitin without any artificial additives.
  • Organ Meat (10−15%) Fresh liver and tripe are richly nourishing sources of vitamins and minerals, including iron, zinc, and vitamins A, B and D.

Quality, Sustainable Ingredients

Orijen believes you have a right to know where the ingredients in your dog's food come from. From nest-laid eggs and wild northern pike to juicy orchard-grown apples and crisp garden greens, each ingredient is sourced from local producers they know and trust.

I've had my two Havanese on Orijen for over a year now. I couldn't decide between the Regional Red and Six Fish because they seemed to really love both. I finally settled it, buying both, mixing the two bags together so they get both every meal. Recently one of my girls has taken to sniffing her bowl and deciding not to eat. However when I tested it one morning, she gobbled up a scrambled egg, so she was hungry. She doesn't do it all the time, but it's becoming too often--mulitiple times a week. The other one eats as she always has-- inhales it. However, I think she's like Mikey -- will eat anything! I'm only here to reorder now because ants discovered the food that wouldn't fit into I've had my two Havanese on Orijen for over a year now. I'm only here to reorder now because ants discovered the food that wouldn't fit into the large air tight dog food storage container and almost 1/2 bag had to be thrown away. However because of the one's change in eating behavior I decided to look at a couple other Orijen varities and compare them nutritionally. I discovered the Six Fish has recently undergone a formulation change. I have to wonder if this is why she isn't in love with it as she used to be and is preferring not to eat over eating the mixed kibble. For this reason, I took away 1 star. The other one still acts as if she's getting the best meal ever. Now, I just have to figure out what I'm going to order. … more

  • amazing, clear skin, shiny coat, and fresh breath and clean teeth

absolute best kibble on the market. My German Shorthaired Pointer amstaff mix (both breed are known to have skin issues) has terrible allergies to a lot of animal proteins so we chose origin six fish in the mornings and raw food at night. Her skin is clear and she is just overall more happy and energetic. Only problem is that it stinks so bad I want to wear a gas mask lol. But I guess thats a good thing because it means its fresh. So so so so so so happy with this food

  • even the cat likes it

My german shepherd dog really likes this dry food. The kibbles are larger than most that are for large breed dogs. Most other brands have kibble small enough for the little yapper dogs. Those tiny pieces get caught all over my dogs' mouth. My elderly cat walked up to the bowl one day, sniffed around, and started to pick out pieces to eat. Possibly because it is fish was the reason. Anyhow, my best buddys' coat is definitely looking healthier.

  • Baby Maltese loves it

    By on

Great food. Six fish a bit fishy...but it's fish. Never sick, never had tummy problems, hair is lush and no tear stains. 6 year old Maltese is healthy. Only con is that it's a bit costly, but you get what you pay for. Never on sale, no discounts are applicable, sad...

  • Best Kibble Out There

My dog is a super picky eater and I was concerned he wouldn't be interested in a flavor made of entirely fish. He's eaten Orijen his whole life and is just as content with this flavor as he is with any other one of their products.

Our Dobe was suffering from loose poo and other gastro issues, we were told she may be allergic to chicken protein, so we tried this all fish formula and its been great. Yard waste pick up is much better and she loves the food.

  • Excellent quality dog food

I love Oriijen 6 Fish Grain-Free Dry Dog Food. My Toy Poodle has severe allergies to poultry and beef so this is a great option for him. It is very difficult to find in pet stores so I greatly appreciate being able to order from Chewy.com. That makes my life a little easier.

Our dog loves all foods by Orijen. We feed her a combo of Six Fish & Tundra, and she eats it right up! Plus it provides animal based protein, fat, and all the nutrients for her.
