Description

High-protein, low-carbohydrate and loaded with fresh regional fish, Orijen Grain-Free 6 Fish Formula mirrors the foods Mother Nature intended cats of all breeds and lifestyles to eat. It's made with New England Mackerel, Herring, Flounder, Redfish, Monkfish and Silver Hake, as well as regional fruits and vegetables. Each morsel is also infused with freeze-dried fish so it's bursting with the natural savory flavors cats love. These world-class ingredients are all sustainably farmed or fished within the United States and arrive fresh each day, so they're preservative-free, never frozen and loaded with the animal proteins and fats that nourish your cat or kitten completely.

Key Benefits

  • Brimming with 40% richly nourishing protein, and limited to 20% low-glycemic carbohydrates to nourish cats and kittens according to their evolutionary and biological needs
  • A full 2/3 of the fish used is fresh (refrigerated, without preservatives) or raw (flash-frozen, without preservatives), including the top 6 fish ingredients
  • Nutrient-dense WholePrey ratios of fresh whole fish (including meat, organs, and cartilage) provide virtually every nutrient your cat needs – only choline, zinc and copper are added
  • The dried fish are specially prepared at 200º F from fresh, whole, wild-caught fish to create a concentrated source of richly nourishing protein
  • Infusions of gently freeze-dried cod liver enhance flavor and palatability naturally, making Orijen deliciously tasty, even for fussy eaters

Note: During packaging, Orijen's air evacuation process draws excess air from the bags prior to sealing. Depending on certain variables, some packages will appear vacuumed and others not. Rest assured the food in each bag will be equally fresh!

  • My cats will do "tricks" for this food :)

    By on

My 3 cats are crazy about this stuff. I feed them canned (with a little added water) 2x/day to make sure they get enough moisture but they love dry food so I use this for treats. When I pick up the bag (or when they want some "cookies"), they will either sit or go use the scratching post, as these 2 behaviors are encouraged and rewarded promptly with a small scoop of "cookies". I also use this to lure them back in the house after having let them out into the back yard. They come running for this dry food. They absolutely love it (so does our dog!) and I love the top-quality ingredients used to make it. I will definitely order more of this superlative dry cat food ! … more

  • THE BEST OF THE BEST!

    By on Top 1000 Contributor

This is by far the best quality cat food you can purchase. Let me Tell you why. It's grain, corn, wheat , soy, tapioca , potato, sweet potato, and rice free. Potatoes and rice can cause yeast issues and they leave them out. Very hard to find in other brands. They have their own grass fed, free-range, local farners. It's antibiotic, hormone and GMO free. The fish are wild caught or responsibly farmed. The farmers sell exclusively to them with the exception of a few that sell to high end restaurants. Yes, the meat is human grade! They never outsource, meaning they have their own facility to make the food and do not let anyone else make the food. They never outsource, meaning they have their own facility to make the food and do not let anyone else make the food. Big reason why many companies have recalls. In addition, they test and hold every batch to prevent recalls! They've never had a recall! All the meat arrives within several days of harvest and 2/3 is put directly into the food. The other 1/3 is flash frozen , different from regular freezing. This preserves as many nutrients as possible. They use whole prey ratios . Meat, ORGAN, CARTILAGE , AND BONE. Just like in the wild. The carbs they use are kept to a minimum and are low on the glycemic index. They burn slow for lasting energy. Our 9 pound spayed female cat (indoor) only gets 1/4 in the morning, 1/4 cup at night. 1/2 cup per day. A little goes a long way. They have left out the poor quality fillers, that's why! Lastly they use many botanicals like rosehips and sarsaparilla root...which all have their purposes from detoxifying the body to strengthening the immune system. Topped off with probioitics at the end! Zero hair balls, and she FEELS literally LIKE A BUNNY! Her fur is plush, no dandruff, itching or flaking. Her eyes are clear and she is full of energy. No more urinary tract infections! Our Kiara is 3 years old , and has 13 toes on her front paws! This is obviously a deformity ...polydactyl cats with this ..normally a cause of inbreeding. More than likely she was a horder cat. She was also born with a birth defect causing "luxating patella" . One side of where her knee cap sits was not high enough. Her knee cap started popping out of place. She had an intense 3 hour surgery. (See photos ) and the cushion under the knee cap had to be scraped away and the knee cap put back and screws put in to secure it. There was a chance she would favor it and have issues walking the rest of her life. We are two years in after her surgery and she leaps and bounds like NOTHING is wrong. She is active and even goes on walks with us! I truly think it's the high glucosamine and omegas in this food. At 90% meat, you can't get any better . Treat your cat like the mini lion/tiger that they are! Will never feed anything else, and working at a specialty food store, I saw many people who say the food completely turned their cat's health around. It really is worth the money and you truly know you are putting the absolute BEST in your cat! … more

Fitty Cent is very finicky about what he eats; after all he is a cat. LOL He absolutely LOVES this food. He will actually meow loudly until his bowl is topped off. Great quality food with no filler ingredients. I will never buy anything else for him. Thank you Chewy.com for your great prices and quick shipping. • Mistake turn Success

    By on

Well I bought this by mistake actually. I thought I was buying the dog version. I must not have had my glasses on that day? Who knows! We got the shipment, opened it, put it out for the dogs and both the dogs ate it up! Later we noticed the cat eating it too. We thought "Wonder if they make a cat version of this???" My mom reminded me later to check and my brain must have been on point that day because I told her to look at the bag and does it say cat or dog? Sure enough it was cat food!!! I bought the wrong one?!? So I went back online and ordered the dog version and all my babies are extremely happy now!!

  • Great quality.

    By on

My cats are not picky eaters, so they are driving me nuts by not wanting to eat this nice food I got them! However, I still gave it 5 starts because my cats are just weird and this food is amazing. They are starting to eat it because their other food that I mixed it with at first is running out. Soon they will have no choice but to eat it. However...they all 3 don't mind coming downstairs at night and eating the dogs Origin 6 fish. I also feed them Lotus canned food to keep their kidneys healthy. These animals eat better than my husband and I.

My cats like this very much, although (I think) they prefer the chicken taste more. I feel good that I am providing high quality food for them.

  • smelled bad and cat didn't eat it

    By on

The first thing I noticed is this smelled awful to me. I didn't think much of that but our cat refused to eat it. I took what was left to our local shelter but haven't been back to see if any of their cats liked it or not.

  • cats love it

    By on

No sooner had i set the bag on the kitchen floor and my cat was all over it, trying to get in the bag. She has NEVER done this with any other food. But since it is pricey I mix it with my Purina and works great that way and I feel good about giving them something so healthy and above the usual cat food.

  • Excellent Quality -It has helped a lot with my cat with stomatitis-

    By on

My rescued Cat suffered from severe stomatitis. When we got her from the shelter we started feeding her grain free wet foods. After she went through the teeth extraction surgery we started feeding her Origin and she recovered her weight and her fur got much better. She was 4 pounds when we adopted her and a year later she was 11 pounds. Grain free foods are a MUST for cats with stomatitis. We still feed her wet food but she enjoys the Origin dry food. If you have a cat with stomatitis, please make sure that ALL teeth are pulled and roots are 100% extracted if (steroids are just a temporary relieve). She is a happy a healthy cat now her name is BabyBoo.

  • Our cats simply love this food

    By on

Our cats simply love this food. They wake us up in the morning, and by 4 o'clock in the afternoon there often bouncing up-and-down wherever we are wanting us to feed them. It didn't take long to transition them to this food as it is of such high-quality and has superior ingredients
