I have two cats. I have always fed them a widely vet recommended cat food. One of my boys was throwing up several times a week for years and the other one has always had terrible dandruff (he's black so it really shows) . I was resigned to the fact that these were going to be lifelong issues. My daughter suggested that we try different food to see if it would help with the stomach issues. I did some research and decided to try Orijen . OMG!! After a few weeks my cat who has had chronic dandruff has beautifully shiny fur and not a flake of dandruff and the other one with chronic stomach issues hasn't thrown up once since he's been eating it. It's almost unbelievable- but it's true! AND they love it! I hesitated to buy it because of the higher price, but it's TOTALLY WORTH IT! These are just the things that are noticeable to me after a few weeks. I'm sure they are going to benefit in many other ways and be healthier overall throughout their beautiful little lives. :)

by EMBrown So Far So Good with New Formula
I feed my 3 month old Siberian kitten a combination of both wet and dry food. In an effort to find a really good quality dry food I tried the new Orijen Kitten formula made in Kentucky. I realize that some cats have had a bad reaction to the new formula and I can't compare this to the Canadian formula because I didn't try it. What I can tell you is that I was impressed with what I read on Orijens web site about how this food is made. I can also tell you that my kitten LOVES it! She likes it much better than Hills Science Kitten Chicken dry (which is what the breeder started me out on) and Fromm Kitten Gold (although she did like Fromms much better than Hills). Not only does my Kitten love Orijen kiiten dry but she has had no bad reactions to this new formula and she is very healthy and happy! This makes me very happy! :)

Wow. I am purchasing this product now as I want a back up of dry food for my kitties for when I am working (work long hours 12 to 15 hrs a day). I usually feed them canned before I leave and when I get home. I just recently found a brand of canned that I am happy with of seems my kitties are happy with as well! Which as been a struggle because they are all so finicky and would like something one day and turn their nose up the next. The Weruva line including the BFF and cats in the kitchen have been a huge success. Anyhow, back to this product. I was just reading, their ingredients and wow! The first 10 to 20 are ALL meats, organs and more dehyrdrated meats. Honestly, this ingredient list looks far better than I have seen on any dry bag in quite awhile including some of the super premium brands. I have not calculated the carbs but almost looks as if I do not have to. Will post again after purchase on how my cats like it. They usually aren't as picky when it comes to kibble versus the canned. While picky regardless I find,it less stringent in getting them to like a dry good versus a canned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jane Still trying to get my cat to eat this by itself
The ingredients of this food (Cat and Kitten formula) are excellent. While still rather high in carbohydrates, I was told the glycemic index is only 2 which is good to try to help prevent or manage diabetes. I was looking for a good dry food to feed my new 1 1/2 year old cat. I recently lost a cat to complications from diabetes. I would like to get this cat on wet food only, as recommended by many vets, but so far, he is not too willing. In the meantime, Orijen is the best I can do with the dry food, I think. I mix it with his current Purina "True Nature 45% protein" formula which is 19.6% carbs--too high in my opinion.
Chewy is a great company and by talking with Megan from Orijen, I was able to feel more comfortable with this particular dry food and the hopes of avoiding diabetes in this cat. While you may think it is expensive, try syringes, insulin and vet visits. My goal is avoid that at all costs. Also, all Orijen fish are wild caught---also a big plus for me. Now, if he will just learn to love it!!
TXS Megan and Chewy!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by luvcats Great food, but bring back the 15 lb bag!
After much research, I began ordering this about 6 months ago and am happy with the quality. I have 3 cats with fewer stomach issues since using this product (yay!) A 15lb bag lasts about 1 month (perfect for an order schedule). I justified the price because of the positive health benefits. As of January 2017 the 15 lb bag is no longer available. The 12 lb bag is a price increase of 50 cents per pound and won't last a month. I am no longer comfortable with the cost/benefit outcome and will look to other options.

I have to say I am not fond of the price but since one of my 4 cats needed a lower carbohydrate food because of chronic/acute pancreatitis, this was my best choice and recommended by my holistic vet. I was afraid they wouldn't like it but they have all adjusted to the change. hoping my Grace gets better now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cc100plus Awesome product
I wanted to switch my kitties to a healthier cat food n I researched online and found Orijen to be one of the best cat food in the market. After they went through the first bag of Orijen cat food I noticed a significant change on one of my kitties. One that wasn't as healthy looking before now looks amazing healthy. She grew all her fur back and I also noticed there isn't much or no coughing up undigested food compared to before when they were fed the cat food I bought from Costco. Albeit it is much more pricier than others but if you truly love your pets, Orijen is exactly what your pets need.
