Biologically Appropriaten Commitment

Dogs and cats are built like their ancestors, and that's why all of Orijen's recipes are based on five biologically appropriate principles. They start with a variety of unmatched fresh meat inclusions that are rich in protein. Orijen includes whole prey ratios that naturally provide the nutrients your dog needs. Carbs are limited, but there are plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and cleansing botanicals.

Orijen Dry Dog Food

Whole Prey Foods

In the wild, dogs consume the whole animal to meet their full dietary needs, so Orijen recipes incorporate three whole prey elements in specific ratios.

  • Meat (70−85%) High meat inclusion means all amino acids are provided in natural form, without any synthetic supplements.
  • Edible Bone (5−10%) Bone, marrow and cartilage provide calcium, phosphorus, glucosamine and chondroitin without any artificial additives.
  • Organ Meat (10−15%) Fresh liver and tripe are richly nourishing sources of vitamins and minerals, including iron, zinc, and vitamins A, B and D.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 329 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Excellent food but not for my dog This is a high quality food. You can tell from the second you open the bag. The ingredients are pure and some of the best available. I made the mistake of giving this to my puppy without any transition from what he was eating and we ended up with piles of poop in the house. It didn't agree with him. After further research this food is more suited for working dogs that get a fair amount of exercise and maybe don't have any tummy sensitivity. No hard feelings. I think this is good stuff but not for my pup. September 14, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by this product is great! This product is great for my growing Bull Terrier puppy! September 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great food, and peace of mind. Seven month old puppy has been on Orijen puppy formula since day one. She's healthy, her coat is shinny and has never had a loose stool. Orijen is one of the best dog foods and it's produced with strict standards. Not all dogs can handle the high protein but it's worth trying. September 9, 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Reviews are not accurate After reading reviews on line, seeing the rating is so high, I thought the extra money for this product was going to be worth it. My puppy doesn't have any issue eating the food (why I gave two stars instead of one) but it has caused him diarrhea for days. I didn't realize it was the food at first but now I need to switch back to his old food. Advise: Get a small pack of food and try, make sure it works for your dog. Just because the food is high rated, doesn't make it the best. I will not buy orijen products again. September 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Transitioning from Orijen Adult Dog Our puppy literally inhales this stuff! We are on Day 3 of our switch from the Adult Dog formula Stella was fed by the breeder, and we can't complain. I was advised by both our breeder and vet to take out any leftover food after a certain amount of time, to discourage finicky eating. Can't say I've run into that problem, since the bowl is consistently licked clean in under 3 minutes! So glad Chewy carries the US made Orijen now, since our neighborhood pet stores are still stocking the Canadian version, and my go-to Chicago/Streetervile store only carries the medium bags in limited quantities. Hoping to get a better idea of Stella's monthly consumption soon so I can set up Autoship. Thanks, Chewy! August 10, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Dog doesn't like it My puppy stopped eating his other kibble. I thought if I was going to switch then I would get one of the best ones. He spits it out or walks away. I wanted him to like it because it's of the highest quality but it just didn't work out. August 31, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Did not work for my corgi puppy Kibble is big and pretty hard that made my corgi puppy 6 months old tend to swallow it instead of chewing (she did chew on other kibbles). So it made her vomitted few times and had soft stool. August 31, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Puppy really likes it. My Brittany really likes the food and is tolerating the high protein well. Her coat is really soft and shiny and her stamina is good. Highly recommended. September 6, 2016
