Fresh ingredients preserved solely through refrigeration and raw ingredients frozen at the peak of freshness stay true to their form. This minimalist approach preserves important nutrients and keeps closer to the diet your canine evolved to eat.
FIRST 5 INGREDIENTS
The first 5 ingredients are always fresh or raw animal sources, including nutrient-rich meat, poultry, whole fish, and organs.
15 FRESH OR RAW INGREDIENTS
With at least 15 fresh or raw ingredients in every recipe, ORIJEN kibble is the closest thing to feeding a raw diet.
ORIJEN'S WHOLEPREY DIET
ORIJEN recipes include meat, organs, and bone, so your dog can enjoy the most nutrient-dense and succulent parts of the prey.
Transitioning to ORIJEN

Can my 80-pound golden retriever eat this dog food
Answer by • Aug 11, 2021
This recipe is suitable for dogs of all life stages and breed sizes.
Is this food good for a 60lb boxer
Answer by • Oct 24, 2021
ORIJEN Regional Red Dog Food is formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Dog Food Nutrient Profiles for All Life Stages except for the growth of large size dogs (70 lb or more as an adult).
are the vitamins synthetic and is this a high heat extruded kibble?
Answer by • Oct 31, 2022
The majority of the vitamins in ORIJEN recipes come naturally from the animal meat, fish, fruit and vegetable ingredients. If a vitamin is supplemented it will be listed in the ingredient panel separately (by definition that vitamin is synthetic since it is not naturally occurring in the ingredients themselves). The extrusion process cooks the ingredients gently in their own juices with steam to ensure maximum flavor potential. ORIJEN's extrusion process typically cooks at temperatures between 198-240 degrees Fahrenheit.
my dog is a very picky eater...always had to find ways of getting her to eat her food...and now with this food she actually is excited for it and we don't have to give her as much with other dog foods that do not have the best ingredients. I was looking for an affordable dog food that had top notch ingredients and this is the closest I can get without breaking the bank so much. I love that the top 5 are all animal protein which dogs thrive off of. dogs don't need fillers or rice...their main appropriate diet is meat. and im glad this brand gets it!

The only kibble my pup will eat
My picky 3yo mini doodle was eating only Stella & Chewy patties, and refusing to eat kibble--even fancy expensive ones like Ziwi. It took a while of going through other brands, but I was surprised to find he likes this one! Thank gosh, because I cannot afford the S&C patties! (He still gets them as treats)

Great quality, at a price.
My dog loves this Regional Red and the Original grain free. His coat has better color and he seems to feel better overall compared to when I was giving him a budget kibble. Quality is rarely cheap, so the cost is a big consideration. It's worth it to me and I recommend Origen foods to any dog owner.

Feeding the Right Way
Orijen is the best food out there. Both my dogs are healthy. Orijen seems pricey, however, it last longer because the dogs eat less. Great quality. We have tried all the trendy, popular foods in comparison. My dogs love Orijen, one is a Great Dane, we use two bags a month.

best dog food
Every dog I have ever had in the past 10 or 15 years I have fed them Orijen. It may cost a lot, but what does it and this time in age that we live in. If I go out to dinner, I always go to a nice restaurant that serves good quality food. And that food cost more then going to a cheap restaurant the same is with this dog food. This is like my dog going to a high-quality restaurant, getting high-quality food and I appreciate a company that invest in high-quality food because most companies say it’s high-quality but it’s not. I also subscribe to the Pedegree best dog food on the market list and Orijen was on the top 10. It’s healthy for her coat and skin, and her stool turns white, and does not deteriorate my grass. I love it. My dog is a picky eater as well and she cannot have grain. It gives her diarrhea. Thank you!

My dog loves orijen
I am slowly transitioning my Sadie over to orijen dry food. She never leaves her bowl until empty! And her coat is shiny and healthy looking. It makes me feel better giving her a more species appropriate diet.

Life Changing
Case study:
I have two dogs under 20lbs. One is a senior and started having teeth issues with plaque, bad breath, and a molar pulled. The other is in her prime and has had a history of ear, GI, and all around itchiness. They were fed Eukanuba (9 years) and then later Science Diet (2years) dry kibble.
After doing some research on dog food, it was alarming to learn what goes into the ingredients, even when the brands claimed to contain or exclude one (ex, science diet bag claiming not to contain chicken, but in fact has byproducts listed in the ingredients).
I suspected my young dog had a chicken allergy (or grain) and decided to avoid heritage brands and tried freeze dried, cue Orijen. Immediately, her ears cleared up, never had a GI issue, and she even sheds less. The senior’s teeth significantly improved by little plaque build up and he LOVES this kibble.
This bag is a little pricy, but after you factor in vet fees and quality of life, I’ll pay for it. With inflation, I hope they don’t alter the recipe. We’ve been using Orijen for a year now.

Did they change the recipe?
I am starting to wonder if the recipe has been changed.
We've had our boston terrier on orijen for a year and she's done well. The last bag and now this bag, she has had loose stools.
Our girl has a sensitive stomach...it may be time to turn to home cooked food.

Excellent Food
So I moved my 2 greyhounds on to this food about 8months ago. I have to admit their fur is shiny, smooth, and soft, their energy is improved and they just seem to be better all around. Hoping to keep them on this food long term.
