Freeze-Dried, Full of Nutrients

Dogs and cats are built like their ancestors, and that's why all of Orijen's recipes are based on five biologically appropriate principles. They start with a variety of unmatched fresh meat inclusions that are rich in protein. Orijen includes whole prey ratios that naturally provide the nutrients your dog needs. Carbs are limited, but there are plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables and cleansing botanicals.

Orijen Dry Dog Food

Just Add Water

Now your dog can enjoy the texture, flavor and nutritional benefits of raw food without any of the mess or preparation. For your dog to enjoy Orijen's amazing fresh food flavors to the fullest, rehydrate freeze-dried foods by adding 1/4 cup (4 tbsp.) of warm water per medallion. Wait 3 to 6 minutes, then serve.

Whole Prey Foods

In the wild, dogs consume the whole animal to meet their full dietary needs, so Orijen recipes incorporate three whole prey elements in specific ratios.

  • Meat (70−85%) High meat inclusion means all amino acids are provided in natural form, without any synthetic supplements.
  • Edible Bone (5−10%) Bone, marrow and cartilage provide calcium, phosphorus, glucosamine and chondroitin without any artificial additives.
  • Organ Meat (10−15%) Fresh liver and tripe are richly nourishing sources of vitamins and minerals, including iron, zinc, and vitamins A, B and D.

Quality, Sustainable Ingredients

Orijen believes you have a right to know where the ingredients in your dog's food come from. From nest-laid eggs and wild northern pike to juicy orchard-grown apples and crisp garden greens, each ingredient is sourced from local producers they know and trust.

About Orijen

Orijen products are created by Champion Petfoods, an award-winning pet food maker whose mission is to make biologically appropriate dog and cat foods from fresh regional ingredients. • Excellent product!

My doggie loves this stuff! I use it as a topper on Acana Heritage Meats. Cleans the bowl every time. I alternate between this, Primal, and Stella and Chewy freeze dried foods for toppers and also treats. Highly recommended!

  • My Small Dogs Love It!!!

    By on

Only negative: When ordering make sure to call to ask them to add extra packing in the box, otherwise they arrive in crumble and are hard to measure. My first bag was crumbles, but I called Chewy and they sent another bag more properly padded with packing. Also, for my two small dogs (a Coton and a Morky) it absolutely has to be rehydrated or I break them up and add to a ground turkey/veggie mix that I make myself. I broke one up just to let them get a small taste and my older pup had trouble getting it down, coughed a few times. Other than that they loved it! My Morky has THE most sensitive tummy and does very well with this food. We are trying another variety of the freeze dried next Only negative: When ordering make sure to call to ask them to add extra packing in the box, otherwise they arrive in crumble and are hard to measure. • Great dog food

    By on

I originally started buying this for my Chesapeake Bay Retriever when he exhibited a food allergy to another brand of grain-free dog food (which, I gather, was supposed to taste like wild prey.) It knocked him out of the hunt tests for that season. I went to Orijen and he has had no problems since (over 2 years.) His condition is better than 99% of the dogs you see. Somehow, my wife's papillions got into the act as well. It's been great for them as well. My only complaint is the ridiculously high price, but I keep paying it.

  • Now made in the usa.

Dogs love it. Either Canadian or USA, doesn't matter. There was a different smell from the Canadian to the American. Nothing bad, just a different odor because of the differing food sources.

  • High Quality - Loved By All

    By on Top 1 Contributor

This Orijen Freeze dried food has ingredients that are of the highest quality. Easy to prepare and offer a warm fresh meal instead of cold "dead" kibble. The best part of this food is that our pack of 4 rescues absolutely love it. They wait patiently while these soft medallions re-hydrate into a delicious meal. Then they lick their bowls clean. Good stuff.

I actually use this as a topper for the Orijen Six Fish. I rotate the Tundra and Regional Red freeze dried. They get real antsy when I start mixing the food, so I know they love it.

  • Great dog food. My pups happy

    By on

We really love this food for our puppy. He eats it right up. What's even better is they have a freeZe dried food that you can crumble right on top and it makes it even more enjoyable for them. I took a long time finding a food for my puppy and I feel safe giving this one to him knowing that it's safe enough for human consumption and that the company itself won't even make wet food because that is not nutritious for dogs. Give it a try. It's worth it.

  • Not his favorite flavor

    By on

Like so many others, I have a very picky eater. He will like a particular food for a day or two and then turn his nose up at it. I have been feeding him the Orijen brand of freeze-dried food for about a month now and he still loves it! Except for the Regional Red. It has a fishy smell even though fish is not an ingredient. I have managed to get him to eat it (by adding some chicken jerky), but it is not a flavor I will buy for him again.

  • dogs lick their bowls clean!

    By on

I have 2 malshi's 6 months old. I have tried several foods and done alot of research. My puppies are very picky I have to admit, I wanted them to like this food because it's so highly rated. I started a few months ago with the puppy. They liked it, just recently switched to the freeze dried OMG!!! They wait by my feet to be fed and don't look up from their bowls until the food is gone. I like that there are several flavors to switch from. They're both 9lbs so i give them 1 wafer and 1 half 2x day. I also mix in a small amount of the kibble. This is great dog food. The only negative, it's pricey
