    Best that I have used

By SpringerOwner on Jun 27, 2019

This clipper is the best I have used and best for the price. Chewy's low prices and extremely fast and easy service was the only choice. I suggest the ceramic blades because they last longer and stay cooler.

What good is a trimmer that shaves to the skin with no guards or combs available? Use this to shear a sheep not to groom a dog.

    Indecisive

    By on

Purchased these after my other Oster clippers went Ka-put!! Read on many brands wanted to stick with same brand due to all the blades I have! Anyway, it cut beautifully but boy did it heat up & fast!! I have 4 fur babies to trim & after #1 I had to wait for them to cool down! They are heavier then I thought they’d be & not contoured to fit your hand very well. So I’m undecided on keeping them or what!!??

clips well - but it's heavy

    By on

It cuts through the hair like a knife through warm butter. However; it is not ergonomically designed - hard to hold if you have small hands. It is also very heavy. Must by attachments separate.

    Matted Newfie

    By on

I volunteer at a vets office. A rescue bought in badly matted Newbies that they had just pulled. A vet assistant had broken a set of clippers trying to get mats off the duo. I bought in these freshly ordered clippers and was able to get all the mats out. It was hard at first. Dogs with thick fur and matted fur will take scissors also

    fine hair and getting hot.

    By on

We use these's on a 4 month old stardard poodle, with the largies gaurd we bought. Seams like it was had to cut fine hair and seamed warm to hot only after 15 mins or so. Hard to use on noise and paws, need smaler one for that. Over all so far so good. After rest and a good brushing did what we needed.

A little disappointed with my 2nd A5 purchase compared to my first in 1999.

    By on

I recently purchased a new A5 when my first A5, purchased in 1999, finally had enough clippings under it's belt. I have 3 standard poodles who get clipped every 8 weeks or so. My new A5 had hardware loosen after just 5 hours of use. I only hope this is a fluke and that I don't have stripped screws that will continue to loosen. I tightened the tiny screws and it appears to have held tight. My original A5 provided trims for 5 different poodles over the last 17 years. I hope my new A5 can step up to the task! Overall, my experience with Oster products has been great!

    Great product, but...

    By on

It is a great clipper, however it is rather heavy, loud, and gets hot very quickly. Be sure to purchase the cooling spray and keep the blades cool regularly. Shipping was quick and easy! I prefer using other brand blades.
