Proper care and maintenance of clippers and blades is important. Clean, disinfect and lubricate blades and perform clipper upkeep regularly for smooth, lasting performance. Use Oster Professional maintenance products for to keep your clipper running like new.
Brushes are generally good for up to 200 hours of use. It will be noticeable in clipper performance when it is time to change the brushes. Generally, clippers will begin to slow down, run roughly, and then stop working.
Only clippers with a universal motor require greasing - for example, the Classic 76, Model 10 or Turbo 111. In order to grease the clipper, remove the front cover plate (nameplate) to access to the gear box. This will allow you to determine if the clipper needs to be greased. If clipper does need grease, use about 1/2 teaspoon. Fill the gear box with the grease. Make sure the grease covers the gears. Most of our products come packed with a grease tube.
Over time the socket on your blades may have become damaged. Check the "wings" on your blade socket to see if they may be bent outward or broken.
With the clipper facing you, place the pad of your thumb on the blade and swiftly push the top of the blade away from the clipper. This will make the blade '"tongue" or "blade assembly" open and you can slide the blade off. off the "tongue" and replace the new blade on the "tongue". With the "tongue" open, turn clipper on and then push the blade towards the clipper (shut), this will ensure the proper engagement of the blade on the driving tip.
First, ensure that the rectangular metal "tongue" or blade hinge assembly is in standing position or open. If it is closed, insert a flat head screwdriver under the tongue and applying enough force, push the hinge back to standing position. Once this is complete, slide the blade on the tongue, turn your clipper on and push the blade down and snap the hinge assembly closed.
works great until the switch goes out and you can't buy repalement parts! if its discontinued why are they still being sold? calling oster doesn"t help
I love these clippers except for two things. My Andis blades do not like to stay locked down; and the cord is already going out and I've only had them for a month and a half, the power keeps cutting in and out until I turn the cord to a different position. I can get over the Andis blade problem because it's not the same brand, but I can't get over the fact that the cord is going out after only a month and a half.
Clippers work great we're nice and quiet first time my puppy got clipped didn't mind it at all
This clipper is super quiet and light weight. It was easy to use, even as a new groomer.
I thought the A6 would be a lightweight upgrade from the heavy, but versatile A5. I was wrong to assume that. It was light and more ergonomic than the older model, it is not well made.
I bought a pair of these in October 2021. A week ago they stopped working normally unless I can hold the cord in a very specific way. They're not built to last I guess. I'm really bummed I already have to replace them.
At first it was amazing. But I’ve used it like 4 times and I swear it gets louder and louder each time. I take care of it, clean it, oil it, etc and it just seems like it’s so much louder than it was when I first got it.
Very disappointed that chewy sent me a pair of used clippers
The clippers were great for a week. Super light weight, great for speed grooming. I had them literally 1 week and they are now completely shorting out and will either not turn on at all or sputter and stop in the middle of grooming. I had to constantly tap them to get them to work right again until they finally stopped working all together. Good thing I have back ups but I bought these because my backups are too heavy and slow. Id appreciate someone contacting me to replace these as its been less than 30 days since I purchased them.
Highly recommend this brand clippers and light weight is a plus for wrist fatigue.
