    Very Low Power

    By on

I've been using this nail grinder for a while now and it's not very good. I have a medium sized Bull Terrier with thick claws. The low speed isn't too loud, but the higher speed is quite loud and my dog is frightened by it. I am forced to use the lower speed, which is fine, until I finish 2 nails. After that the power slowly wears down to the point where it's almost not usable. It makes the whole process take way longer than it needs to and the grinding piece will get "hung up" and stop on my dogs nail because it has no power to spin if anything impedes it. It's really frustrating. I just bought a better quality grinder and I'm hoping that will do the job. I'm not a fan of this one.

Great once you get used to it!

My dog HATES having her nails trimmed. She put up such a fight that I asked the vet to do it. They cut the quick which only made her resist more. I switched to the Oster grinder for peace of mind that I wouldn’t cut off too much if she flinched. It took weeks of patience and a lot of treats, but now she actually tolerated having her nails ground! She will lay on her back and stick her paws up to get it over with and earn her treats. I have become a lot more efficient too now that she doesn’t fight me. Maybe 5-10 minutes for the whole process, including treats and telling her what a good Doggy she is.

    powerless doesn’t do anything

    By on

This was a terrible item I bought. It is so powerless that I tried to grind my GSD nails and I set there with my dog in lap for about two hours, I didn’t even finish one paw. Imagine doing all four paws that is how powerless this thing is. I end up throwing it away and will never buy it again. No I don’t recommend this to anyone not worth the money

    Dont like it

My dog is so scared of noise. My other dog allowed me to trim his claws but it took FOREVER. would probably work better on thin small claws.

Broke before I could use it

    By on

I was excited to get this. I put batteries in it and showed it to my dogs to get them used to it. Next time I went to get it the battery cover had come undone and would not close. At least the dog’s don’t freak out when they see it or it touches their feet but I’ll have to get a replacement before I can trim nails.

    animal nail sander

    By on

I really glad I finally bought this, I'm terrible at cutting my dog's nails and they just charge way too much to have it done in a shop. My dog is not afraid of the sanding sound or having it done to his nails. tyvm

    Ehhh, Not so much...as expected!

    By on

Here is the skinny and sweet and cons: its portable, has some weight so solid construction, basically think of it as a Dremel. Con's the amount of energy it needs battery life is soon gone ( I think i'd like it better to plug it in or rechargeable!) The sander spindle one on it when you get it one extra sander ring, you go through them too fast. The sound is not as quiet on the 2nd speed (High) tends to startle your pet, It doesn't trim nail properly...lastly this one is just me, i hate the smell of the sanding of the nail, it stinks of the collagen of the nail as you sand, i have a sensitive smeller and it gaged me honestly~!

    makes to much noise

    By on

I have 3 little dogs and they are all afraid of this. it is to noisy for them. I was able to get one nail in the grinder and it did not work. I would have to hold his nail in to long and freak him out.

    Foster Paws Nail Grinder

I ordered 1 and when I received it, the thing didn't work. So I called for a replacement and when I received the 2nd grinder, it didn't work either. Not worth $1.

    Nail trimmer

    By on

My dog dies but like his feet messed with. Yes, I have tried rubbing them, casually rubbing them, etc. he still resists. Trimming nail is difficult in light of his 95 pounds. The grinder makes it easier since I know I won’t remove too much nail and cause him pain and bleeding. It’s not noisy. Takes a little getting used to but works well.
