  • Loud but challenging

Fist of all, if you have hard floors be warned that this toy may very well scratch your floors (it did mine) as it slides across the room. The toy is a hard plastic and as your dog tries to get treats out there will be lots of sliding around, and bumping into walls/furniture. Which also happens to be EXTREMELY noisy. Second of all your dog MUST be very food motivated to enjoy this toy. It is very very challenging to get treats and kibble out of the cube and even with my very food motivated dog that has many different challenging food puzzles and treat toys this was a real challenge and I had to show him how to use it several times before he kinda got the idea - even then it took him about an hour before he really understood how to get the treats out (rolling the cube around). His tactic being to smack the thing as hard as he can across the room and hope it flips over after hitting the wall lol. That being said - I have used MANY treat puzzles on my dog (he loves them so much) and this is by FAR the most challenging which makes this probably one of my favorites. I can put a cup of kibble in this and it will take him over 3 hours before he finally gives up (without actually finishing all the kibble) where with a kong wobbler I could put a cup of kibble in and hed finish it all in under 15 minutes. It gets a 5/5 in that aspect for me, however the noise alone is pretty horrendous and I only give it to him if I'm gonna have my sound canceling headphones on and be in the other side of the house lol. … more

  • Pin pops out too easily

    By on

I was hoping this would be a great addition to our puzzle toy collection, but this product did not even last a week. The pin easily comes loose during play, even when it seems to be fully locked in place. Unfortunately, this happened multiple times and the last time our dog destroyed the pin so now his food/treats dispense too easily. If you have a large/rough-playing dog, the Kong Wobbler is far more durable.

  • so far she like's the results but hasn't figured it out

    By on

My rescue is extremely smart but I think the plastic isn't tactile enough for her liking. I thought the material would be more like the material used to make a Kong. I'm on the fence about this one but keep hoping she'll figure it out.

  • My dog loves this but beware.

Our 90 lb. boxer/Great Dane mix loves this toy but it took him a few days to get the hang of it. Now it keeps his interest and he has a great time rolling it around to get his treats. I did not have any trouble with opening or closing the insert, however he did manage to get it out once and caused some damage to the inside piece. I watch my dog when he plays with this toy and once the treats are gone I take it away. I would recommend this toy with the following caution. The toy is not one solid piece. It is two glued pieces. If your dog throws it up and it lands on a hard surface it may separate at the seam. This can be a problem if the dog chews it after that. Ours does and did and he got his tongue and lip pinched between the two halves. He was whimpering, but after I removed it, there were no signs of blood. Therefore, I can see some potential dangers if left unattended with this toy. … more

  • Great idea but poor execution.

    By on

The idea for this toy is great, but in reality, the toy didn't really function right. My dog is 15-16 pounds so maybe the large size just wasn't right for him, but no matter how hard he pushed or pawed at this thing, it wouldn't really turn. Maybe on a carpet surface or grass it would work better, but my pup was on hardwood floors and the thing would just slide all over the place without turning and giving treats. So...maybe this'll work for your dog if he/she is much larger (50-70 pounds) and can wack this thing around...but for most I don't think it works. Also, it's made of thin plastic, so you'll hear that going around your house as it slides or tumbles.

  • My dog loves it!

    By on

We originally bought this large cube for our 6 month old golden doodle since she gulped her food down so fast it caused her to vomit. It worked great and entertained her at the same time. It took only a few minutes for her to watch me turn it over to understand how it worked to get the food. She pushes it with her nose. Now it's more than 3 years later, and she will choose to eat her food from the cube every time even when she has food in her regular dish too. She's even learned to only use it in a carpeted room since it is loud on a wood or tile floor. I'm buying another cube since the center will no longer stay attached after all this time. She is pretty rough on it.

  • Too Noisy!

    By on

Seemed like a good idea, but on hardwood and tile floors the noise it makes rolling around scares the dog. Won't go near it. Scares the cats too!

  • Hard to use

    By on

Getting the food/treats in and out is hard with this. Once it is used a time or 2, it's almost impossible to open and refill

  • Wasn't worth it

Not only is it incredibly loud, it only made it 3 hours before it broke and then my dog started chewing on the filling insert

  • easy to clean

    By on

I am happy that this toy is very durable for my destructive buddy, keeps him busy and moving for the very food motivated guy he is, and is easy to keep clean. A previous food toy we had for him literally grew mold inside! Washable toys are a must. The only drawback is he tends to get it stuck under the couch or behind doors but that isn't a huge deal.
