Do the little sushi pieces come off? Or are they attached? Seems like a choking hazard if they come off
Answer by ChewyMar 04, 2021
The sushi flippers do not come off. Your pet will simply slide the sushi flippers along the tracks for their treats.

I just got this toy and my dog used it but was a pro at it.How do I make it harder for him?
Answer by ChewyAug 04, 2021
An alternative way to make the puzzle more challenging, is to try putting peanut butter or frozen treats in the item.

Can a cat play with it
Answer by ChewyMay 04, 2021
This toy is suitable for cats and dogs.

Is it safe to be put in crate with puppy? My only concern is whether my GSD puppy can chew this puzzle into pieces and swallow some. I plan to use this toy to keep her busy in crate.
Answer by ChewyJul 02, 2021
The Sushi pieces are attached and not intended for removal. No toy is indestructible. Supervise your pet when using since small parts can present a choking hazard or internal blockage. Discontinue use if the toy is damaged. Keep out of reach of children.

cats too stupid, still a good time!

I got a simpler version of this one with only three sushi, and my cats are just too dumb (or maybe too smart) and just go for the bag of treats I’m trying to hide instead of just using the toy! Then when one of them finally get it to move, the other ones always steal the treats from the one who earned it! They are just too cute lol

How smart is your pet?!

We had our doubts about his hunting skills (and his sense of smell) - but our RUSTY SURPRISED US ! His new toy from Chewy , the Sushi Treat Dispensing Puzzle Cat Toy, did not trick him. Rusty figured out how to use his muzzle and paws to manipulate the plastic sushi pieces and discover the hidden cat treats!

Well intentioned, not well carried out

My cat is one of those who is motivated by food when it comes to challenges, and this game was something I thought would keep him busy while I was out and about. He ended up smacking his face and teeth on the sides of food tray as he tried to get the food out, and when he figured out he had 2 front paws (which is wonderful) the food would end up getting stuck in the side rails that the little sushi pieces run along. He is an adult cat, who spent a lot of time outdoors before he was adopted, so he is very very food motivated which makes him a bit whacko when he sees it. He also has a bigger face so maybe that is why it ended up not so great. The holes are the size of about a quarter coin, so something to keep in mind when you buy for your cat!

A great cat toy!

As my almost 2 year old cat has some play aggression and needs challenging, "hunting" type of toys, I tried this. She loves it and looks forward to it each day. I fill about 5 of the spaces with a treat each and, after showing her how, she now goes to it, sliding each "door" to get her treat. It seems to satisfy some of her play/hunting desires. It's durable, easy to clean and well worth the price. Now if I can only get her to stop considering me as prey...lol...

Loved it!!

I feel that I have smart dogs, they are just lazy, with this product they are motivated to get their treat, they enjoy sliding the pockets back and forth searching, A few times it's like they know they've gotten the treat but they want to push the pocket anyway, it's even gotten knocked out of my hand when I tried to pick it up, they weren't done playing with it, definitely recommend giving this a try!

Cats are enjoying this!

We now have proof that one of our cats is clever & one is -- well, more decorative. It took a couple of tries with the treat cups uncovered for them to get the idea, but now they look forward to hunting for treats. If they can't eat the treat out of the cup, they can fish it out with a paw. And our decorative cat will lie down across the toy to keep the clever one from getting all the treats. Maybe she's smarter than we thought. :)

Great for an older dog too!

Bought this for my 12 year old Bichon Frise who no longer plays with toys to give her something to do. It's very easy for her to slide the covers but she has so much fun looking for her treats, she can't wait for us to set it down for her.

Does its job

Our GSD gets thru the puzzle almost as quickly as I fill it. Actually, probably faster. That said, the puzzle is pretty sturdy, as it doesn't break when Conway dumps it or picks it up and tosses it or tries to. bit off the little "sushi rolls." Just wish it was a little harder for the dog to slide the pieces.

Great for cats and dogs

Bought for my two cats and one dog, all use it and enjoy trying to find the treats. Challenging enough to make it fun without being too difficult to frustrate them.

Great for my chihuahua mix!

We tried this toy with my chihuahua mix as well as our cat. The wells were a little too deep and narrow for the cat to get the treats out because he couldn't get his mouth in there with his whiskers. However, my dog had no issue; he loves the toy and has a great time finding the treats. Definitely recommend for dogs, but it seemed like it wasn't built for cats to use.
