What are the pocket dimensions? I am wondering if my dog's collapsible water bowl will fit.
Answer by ChewyApr 26, 2018
The measurements of the pockets in the Small DayPak are 8.5 x 5.5 x 2 inches, the Medium measures 11.5 x 6 x 4 inches and the Large measures 12.5 x 7 x 4.5 inches.

my dog has to wear a harness for walks, not just a collar... he has a harness that his leash clips to in the front.... will this interfere with his harness? wondering if it'd be worth it to make sure it allows for harness use
Answer by ChewyApr 13, 2018
The harness has a front chest clip, it may block the harness ring. The DayPak does have a ring on the back to attach a leash.

My dog is in between sizes. She’s 53 pounds and her chest measures at 27.5 inches. She’s an adult so I don’t anticipate her growing anymore. Which size should I go with - M or L? She’s very active and I don’t want the bag to slip around.
Answer by ChewyFeb 06, 2018
To select the best size we recommend that you measure your dog's chest girth (circumference). To measure the chest girth you'll measure around the broadest part of their ribcage. The Small fits a girth of 16 to 20 inches, Medium of 21 to 27 inches and Large of 28 to 32 inches. If the dog happens to be in between sizes, such as in this case, it's then recommended to select the bigger size so that you may adjust smaller and the item is not too tight.

Do you sell the XL?

Pretty good

This was a cheaper option by far. I didn’t want to invest too much because it’s her first full harness + backpack. It’s good! It does slide around?? I think it’s cuz she’s so slim. But I love packing water for hiking on her - she LOVES to have a job. The harness is easy to put on and it’s soft so I don’t worry about anything pinching her. I like the bright neon so she’s super visible too. I think if ur looking at a low cost harness for lighter duty this is a good one to start. It does slide around if she shakes but it’s easy to fix. She gets lots of compliments lol. I put my wallet and her poop bags in it too etc. For now it’s good:)

Great little backpack

I really liked how it fit my dog Coco. Secure, which I really like. The pockets are great! Gives control and weight to control Coco. She likes to have a job carrying water!

Mishaps Mid-Hike

Used these several times to go hiking with my dogs. For the most part they function as they should. I bought one in each different color. The first time I used the blue one on my husky, the D-ring where your leash clips, broke mid-hike. Unfortunately, my dog realized he was no longer on leash and quickly got far enough ahead of me to the point I had to chase him. Not good on a trail! I figured I would give the backpacks another try. After all, the green one still worked perfectly fine. I put it on my husky and we went hiking again. I had no issues until we got onto a busier part of the trail. Then the D-ring broke again. Such a shame. They look really good on the dogs.

3 years strong

I've been using this pack daily for over 3 years now. I have the blue bag, and my dog carries about 7lbs every day (water and food). He didn't like the over the head aspect when we first started, but he's used to it now and gets excited when I pick it up. The only thing complaint I have is that the front chest strap has rolled up and no longer lays flat against my dogs chest. He doesn't seem to notice, but it drives me nuts. I do have to keep the straps tight or will rotate around him, but it's only a few seconds each morning to tighten. It's got two tears in the mesh, but for 3 years of use, that's pretty good! My dog is now a fully grown 70lb American staffordshire terrier/boxer (from 52lbs when we adopted him) and this backpack is perfect for him.

Not a great product

First this pack doesn't have the front and back labeled. I tried accessing the video with the girl explaining the pack but it doesn't work, it just sits there and spins...it's not a very good fit for my dog, I forget what size I ordered and the size of the pack isn't marked on the pack itself. Some of these packs and harnesses are easy to use and some aren't which is important as your dog tries to wiggle out. This one is not very easy to use.

Whoever made this pack doesn't have a dog

This is impractical for dogs - you have to slip it over their head and get a foot through in one go. It should have had an additional clasp around the neck to avoid this. For the price, probably wouldn't be too hard to alter on your own. It's otherwise a decent pack with good capacity and I like the ventilation on the back. Just not practical for easy use.

Dog/puppy pack

Works great, my dog is now able to carry stuff needed for when on a hike, the water container, water, and some treats

Doesn't hold up

We've used this backpack, on our 9 month old puppy, 3 times. It's ripping where the d ring and handle are and she's off leash most of the hike, so it's not even like she's pulling on it. I'm very unhappy but at least it wasn't too expensive. Overall, this is not a good backpack and I would not recommend it.

Do not buy!

I do not recommend this for big dogs or long hikes. On My 70lb Shepard mix It slid all over the place without anything in It. Also the chest strap is maybe supposed to connect to the rest but there are no directions at all and no Velcro on the strap itself?? Either way, poor product and wish I would’ve just bought a more expensive one than going for the sale.

Great pack for a great price!

For the price, this pack is perfect! We've used it a half dozen times or so without issue. It does tend to slip and slide a bit, but once you get the fit right for your pup it seems to stay put. Whether you're doing a short or long day hike, it has space for plenty of treats/water bowls/poop bags. I was also skeptical as to whether it would fit our 70lb, barrel-chested doggo, but the large works fine.
