how do I measure my pooch for proper fit?her chest is 27 inches at the widest part. and she measures about 21 inches long from neck to base of tail.
Answer by ChewyApr 28, 2020
To select the best size we recommend that you measure your dog's chest girth (circumference), around the broadest part of the rib-cage behind the front legs. The Small/Medium is recommended for dogs with a chest girth of 16-27 inches and the Extra Large is recommended for dogs with a chest girth of 28-44 inches.

Are the X-large pack's "large" pockets strong enough to carry 32 ounce bottles of water?
Answer by ChewyJun 04, 2019
With a 32 ounce bottle being fairly large, it would not fit within the pockets of this pack.

What material is the bag made of and how waterproof is it?
Answer by ChewyApr 16, 2019
The pouch material is made of a blend comprised of mostly polyester. This backpack is not waterproof.

terrible pack

There is no way to get this pack to fit properly. The buckles get pulled apart in the middle of a run. The straps slide and lengthen on their own so the pack is sitting sideways. My dog will stop in his tracks until k fix it. We have to stop multiple times on our runs and walks to adjust. My dog loves to wear a pack and have a job but this one is very poorly designed. The only nice thing is how much room the pockets have for our gear. I wish the pack was a better fit and more comfortable. Would NOT recommend.

sadly, but no

On the surface this seemed like a good buy. The saddlebags are large enough for my stuff (IPad, etc.) and I like the look. However, it's impossible to fit correctly. The straps loosen all the time, causing the pack to slide over. I'm so disappointed because this makes it impossible to use.

Saddlebags

I liked it at first because it carrys you doggie bags and accessories. It is not well made for long term use. My dog has been wearing it less than a month and it's already ripped up. I admit it was my fault. I dropped the leash she ran and it caught on a sprinkler. It pulled my dog down. I go to free her and where the leash attached on her back had ripped away. On a single yank I call that poorly designed. I would not recommend.

Side-saddle

I really like the canvas material that the bag is made of, and the pockets for the bag are roomy without any frills to them. There's 4 total pockets. Two big saddle pockets, each with a zippered pocket under the flap. There's also a ring on the front chest piece to allow for leading your dog that way (can prevent pulling in some dogs). However, the bag keeps sliding to the right or the left when I'm walking Stratus. I'm having to tighten the straps almost every other time we go for a walk. The straps do have a couple of velcro tabs on them, which is helpful to keep the excess from dangling. But, those very same tabs are annoying when I have to adjust the tightness. I make sure to keep the load on the backpack even, so I think the fault is the thickness or width of the straps. They just can't stay in place. Your mileage may vary, but I find myself not liking this bag overall.
