I have 2 GSPs that love their dinner time. My girl eats normally but my boy would wolf down his food in seconds flat. I bought the Outward Hound slow feeders and WOW what a difference! They are thick and sturdy with rubber on the bottom so the dishes do not move around. It’s easy to pour kibble into the bowls and they have slowed my dogs’ eating from about a minute up to about 7 minutes now. Works exactly as I’d hoped they would. I would definitely recommend!
pug could not eat food

Got the mini orange bec there was a flat nosed dog that was eating out of it and they recommended that size for the flat nosed dogs. I have a pug that eats way too fast! When this arrived she had already ate breakfast 4 hours prior ( if I let her she would munch all day) so I put a few treats in there to see if she could eat them- no luck ! All it did was aggravate her. No loss though I gave it to my older dog that will eat fast too and it works perfectly for her . Was a little disappointed bec my pug literally will inhale her food then have problems for a few hours afterwards . I’m starting to hand feed her like I did when she was younger . I can’t do that every time so I will have to figureGot the mini orange bec there was a flat nosed dog that was eating out of it and they recommended that size for the flat nosed dogs. We have a rescue Lab, and when we first got her, she could eat three cups (when she was rescued she was severely underweight, so she ate 6 cups of food a day until she got to a her goal weight) of food in a minute. We timed it! We tried a few different methods, including different slow feed bowls from other places, to slow her down, and got her to two minutes. We got this bowl, and she has slowed to seven to ten minutes with just two cups of food. I would really recommend this bowl if you have a fast eater!
Very well made, perfect for TINY breeds

I have cairn terrier puppies and a couple of them gulp their food, so I got one of each of these bowls. This orange one is the easiest for them to eat from, but still way too difficult. It takes them 15-20 minutes and a lot of frustration to eat 1/8 cups of food. I think these bowls would be super for tiny breeds, and CHEWY being the awesome company the are gave me a full refund and told me to donate them to a rescue. I am planning to purchase the stainless steel bowl with the 3 knobs so the pups can get their muzzle in to their food, but not inhale it.
Perfect For our 9 month old Harlequin Pinscher.

This has greatly improved her feeding routine , by preventing gulping and gobbling without chewing. She now actually chews the kibble as she gets it out and repositions herself to get more food out . She has to work at it , using her tongue , and I think she likes the challenge actually . I will be ordering another for an older Min Pin , who also seems to just swallow and gulp food. I highly recommend this product to anyone wanting to slow down their little gobblers.
Extremely Picky Dog Loves It

My beagle/dachshund mix is picky about everything, including her bowls, and has a bad habit of inhaling her food. Tonight was her first time using this bowl and it already has made a huge difference. Once she figured out how to use it it worked like a charm. Would definitely recommend to someone else with a picky pup.
Slows her down...some
on Dec 28, 2019
This pet feeder seems to be just the thing for our puppy. She would hurriedly gobble her food so she could browse other's bowls. This slowed her down a bunch, at first. Now she learned that all she has to do is to force the food to where it is widef. It takes 5 minutes, which is much better. Think I'll go up to the hard level for this "too smart for her own good" pup.
Slow feeders make me happy

I’ll forever recommend slow feeders even if your dog doesn’t have issues with eating too fast. I have 7 and only 4 dogs lol. They’re great for mental stimulation and i’ve noticed my mal isn’t nearly as gassy now that his meal is taking him 10 mins vs the original 2

I bought this and the other model offered for my rescued Doberman mix. Having been starved early in life, she inhales her food and then chokes because she doesn't even chew. I alternate between both bowls to keep her interested and it has really slowed her down. I am very satisfied with this product.

My GSD puppy wolfs her food down in seconds, but this actually slows her down! I don’t have to worry about her getting bloat or indigestion because she’s eating too quickly. It’s a bit awkward to use with wet food, but it definitely works. It just takes some getting used to.
