Good morning I'm currently fostering a small English bulldog who goats for food which of the bowls are available from chewy.com is the best for this particular breed any suggestions would be appreciated I need to order something today thanks looking forward to hearing back from you
Answer by ChewyOct 09, 2017
We'd recommend this bowl in the Mini Orange size, it has a little bit bigger gaps than the Regular Orange size for the type of nose the English bulldog has.

I see from the explanation the purple is easiest, teal is medium and orange is the hardest, can you tell me why there are difficulty levels? Trying to decide what is best for my 7 month old lovable but lightening fast border collie! Thanks!
Answer by ChewyJul 05, 2019
The different difficulties of these bowls help slow down quick eaters, while also allowing dogs that like to figure out puzzles a chance to "play with their food" at a level that challenges them.

Can this bowl be used for cats to slow their eating time?
Answer by ChewySep 07, 2018
This feeder could be used for cats as well. They may not be able to fit their mouth in however, they could use their paws to grab food out.

How durable is the bowl? My boy is a chewer would this bowl be safe for him under supervision?
Answer by ChewyApr 02, 2019
This bowl is made with high-quality, food-safe plastic. However, it's recommended to supervision your pet if he is a chewer.

Good bowl for slow feeding

I have two of these. It works really well at slowing my one dogs eating down. It slows my other dog down but not as much as I’d like so if you have a super fast eating dog a more challenging bowl might be better. Easy to clean and fits a good amount of food. (Got the largest size they have)

A great piece of our daily routine

I bought this orange 4 cup feeder and also the purple one for my two medium/large dogs and I have been using them for several years now with no regrets. Both dishes work very well, but the orange bowl is much harder with deeper channels and limited access points. My older, branier, and much more driven cattledog retrieves both bowls before I fill them, then he gets this orange one for the mental workout and the younger, more distractable mountain dog/lab mix gets the purple one to make sure she finishes first. It takes them both 5-10 minutes that way. I mix it up sometimes if they are in their crates and there is no risk of the older one bullying the younger one away from her food when he finishes early. The dishes are much bigger than normal food bowls and if I were to buy them again I would be tempted to get the 2 cup sizes, even for my 60 lb dog.

Great bowl!

We ordered the four cup bowl for our two Pyrenees puppies (12 weeks) to use. These are my first giant breed pups, and I'm terrified of bloat so I wanted to start them on slow feeding right now. The bowl is a great size, and so far has shown no damage from tiny land shark attacks. I think they might be a bit too young for this one as they can't seem to understand how to make the food move through the spiral. We're going to order the starter level bowl and work back up to this one.

Orange SLO feeder bowl large

This bowl is incredible. This bowl slowed my 4.5 month Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. Before bowl 1.5 minutes, now at least 10 minutes! I love it!

Slows eating

We had a stainless steel bowl with 3 nubs before hand, and it slowed eating for maybe 30 seconds. This bowl slowed it for a minute or two. It really works well.

Quality plastic

I have put off buying molded plastic for my dog but my daughter found another of this brand at the thrift store and our dog loved it. So I bought another. And she loves this one too.

Didn't work for me

Didn't work for me, very dissatisfied with this item. Dog chew on the top part trying to get food out and another dog flipped it over and was biting the bottom and bite right through it creating a hole on the bottom side

Right size bowl but

I bought the small size for my Westie but the slots are to deep for her to get the food with her teeth or tongue so she eats slower but cannot get all the food.

Did not work for my dog.

The 4 cup spiral orange feeder does not work for my 55 lb. Dalmatian mix. The ridges are too deep and the spiral design just causes her to push the pieces round and round. I want to slow her down, not frustrate her.

Sully can now enjoy his meal

Sullys favorite thing is eating. When his regular bowl was placed in front of him the food disappeared in seconds. The outward bound bowl slows him way down, he circles around the bowl to get ever morsel out of the fun spiral.
