We have a Puppy and an 11yr old Westie. We mainly bought this dish cuz our Puppy was eating way too fast, so this did slow her down. It's a miracle dish, as our 11yr old refused to eat dry dog food and we've been having to feed him wet food ---for some reason, He LOVES this dish and is now eating dry dog food out of it. Go figure! BEST PURCHASE EVER!!! Solved 2 problems at once. Highly recommend! It looks crazy... but it actually works. We're still dumbfounded that both our Puppy and Senior dog prefer to eat out of this dish.
My dogs have had the same two slow feeders for about 2-2.5 years. It was time to change things up. So I ordered these purple "flower" shaped feeders. It did help slow them down again, since they had gotten used to the others. My plan is to change things up from time to time to keep them from getting too used to one shape. Just for reference, a normal bowl takes them about 5-10 seconds to finish their food. The other slow feeder bowls take 3-5 minutes and the new ones are currently taking 7-10 minutes. I know they will get faster at it as they get used to it, but always better than the few seconds it takes them in a regular bowl. Picture is two pitbulls (about 74-76 pounds each) in their kennels after eating from their new bowls. The bowls are the Large 4-cup size.
