By far my dog's favorite toys, bought several times

Holes too small. Easy to destroy.

By LizzieB on Apr 25, 2021

The holes are too small for the hedgehogs. They don't come out very easily, even by human hands, anywhere but the top (bungeed closed) hole, and my pup pulls the fur off the hedgehogs trying to get them out when they don't fit. I wouldn't consider her a super chewer, (she has many plush toys that are just fine!) yet she tore a hole in one that way after like 30 minutes of play because she was so determined to get it out the tiny side hole. I took that hedgie away before her second play session, replacing it with another small toy, and then she started chewing on the seam around the top hole, which seemed poorly constructed and just kind of tucked in instead of finished off... I think hideaway toys in general are good but this one might not be a winner. Don't get me wrong, she does love it, but I don't love how easy it was for her to destroy. … more

    Not that great

Holes are big and the animals come right out. Small squeaker sound and easily torn up

Durability & Enjoyment it's brought to my Puppy

    By on

Since I have bought the "Outward Hound Hide A Hedgie Squeaky Puzzle", my puppy has enjoyed it & it seems to only be out of his sight ,when he's eating or taking one of his walks. He seems to sleep with part of it ,or all of it , he's never played with a toy like this before. In fact, it's inter-active,we play along with him ,since the Hedgehogs come out. With as much as he plays with it ,I notice the durability of this toy. Usually , nothing ever lasts with my puppy, this holding up great !!!

    Sturdy Structure

    By on top500Contributor

1 pup is a gentle chewier and just picks up all these hide and seek toys, and swings them side to side violently and other toys fly out too easily. This 1, much more challenging and the structure has held strong in the 4 weeks we've had it. The other is already shredded to pieces like all the others we've ever purchased. The critters needing replacing have never been an issue for this pup, it's been the structures This toy, he's gonna enjoy for many more weeks cuz it's still in tact and he's digging the fun in getting these hedgies to come out, which ain't easy like the other similar toys

    Not for aggressive chewers

    By on

Was hoping to find a toy that my voracious chewer would not demolish, sadly this didn't hold up. He completely destroyed one of the hedgehogs and even chewed a hole in the bottom of the 'log'. Sad.

    It’s True!

    By on

I read the reviews on the Hide-A-Hedgie and was skeptical, but, IT’S TRUE! My dog loves this little toy and spend lots of time playing fetch with the little hedgies separately and working to get them out of the log. What a great toy!

    Amusing toy

    By on

Got a few new toys at once and this was my 5 month labradoodles second favorite (to be fair the first was a hide away treat toy which was given before dinner). I had to help him figure it out by stuffing treats inside so he'd investigate better (I think cause he was a little overwhelmed by all the new toys) Once he figured out it opened he loved it and hasn't stopped playing with it. Material seems pretty heavy duty, more so than his other toys. The only thing I see breaking would be the part holding the lid on but I'm sure the hedgehogs will be chewed apart first. The little critters are cute, they sound like our puppies squeaky tennis balls which he loves, these guys are about the same size Got a few new toys at once and this was my 5 month labradoodles second favorite (to be fair the first was a hide away treat toy which was given before dinner). Amusing toy

    By on

My Lab likes getting the little hedgies out of the log. We have hardwood floors and she puts one paw on the log and ends up pushing it all around the room. She hasn't chewed it apart yet.

    Great interactive toy

    By on

Our little puggle loves to pull these out and then open the top. She brings each one to us and then wants them back in to try and remove them again. She's only 8 weeks old and loves these Hide a Squeak Toys.
