Healthy Playtime Problem Solving
Did you know that 15 minutes of mental exercise can have a similar effect on your dog’s emotional well-being as 30 minutes of physical exercise? Dogs love to explore and problem solve and will use their noses and paws as tools. Each Nina Ottoson puzzle toy game is designed with your dog’s natural behaviors, senses and safety in mind.
Reduce Unwanted Behaviors
Setting your dog to work on a puzzle or game helps focus his attention and energy. This mental redirection can help reduce boredom, anxiety and destructive behaviors, too. Try using puzzle toys to distract your dog from fireworks, thunderstorms and other stressful situations.
Four Levels of Play
All dogs are different. That’s why each treat puzzle toy was designed with a different level of difficulty—to please dogs of all skill levels, whether they are beginners or puzzle-solving pros. Start by choosing a level that suits your pup’s skill set and level up as he learns!
Level 1
Perfect for beginners, these puzzles help gain interest and prepare dogs for puzzles to come.
Level 2
Features added obstacles, requiring your dog to combine actions to retrieve each tasty reward.
Level 3
These advanced puzzles challenge your dog to complete several steps in order to reach the hidden treats.
Level 4
This is the hardest level and requires multiple steps and problem-solving skills to solve!
For Bonding and Training
Nina Ottosson puzzle games are a great way to build your relationship with a newly adopted dog or help a shy dog come out of his shell. You can also use puzzles to help train your dog and practice basic commands like “sit” and “stay”.

My Little Girl Trudie tookto this toy in seconds!! LOVES it!
By Kate on Mar 16, 2019
O M G. She loves this new toy/dog dish feeder that I got her. Sometimes when I am feeding her, she walks over to the bowl, and she says "whoooo hooooo Meal Time... so exciting.... Mommy just slaps it down in front of me, and boom there is it... My Mommy is usually fun about things, but mealtime is so boring. She needs to step it up a bit." Well, in the same aisle as what the bed and cushion was in, I found THIS little gem! O M G.. I took it out of the box, I put kibble in the compartments, and she went crazy. She LOVED it. She understood the game right away, and Mommy wanted to cry, she was so happy. You put kibble in separate sections, you will see it on the packaging there on the pack O M G. She understood the game right away, and Mommy wanted to cry, she was so happy. You put kibble in separate sections, you will see it on the packaging there on the pack, and she would take her nose, and lift up the flapper section, and eat the kibble out. You can see in the one photo how excited she was. She had her mouth open and her ears were flapping, she was so happy... This thing....is GREAT. Now Kibble time isn't so boring for her. Mind you, you don't put the soft in there, no don't do that...but any age dog can love this. She is going on three in July, and you don't have to have a puppy puppy for them to like this and to be stimulated mentally at only six months old, they can be any age, and they will have a ball with this. It is from a very reputable company called "Outward Hound." One of my old carriages for her was Outward Hound, when she was a puppy, it was a good carriage.. As you can see from the back panel, there are other toy choices with the same idea on the back. I happen to like the one that looks like a slot machine...it appears that you pull the handle and the kibble comes out where coin would on a slot machine... I like that one.... They all look good actually. I had to take this away from her, she was having TOO GOOD of a time with it.... and she got mad at me, which lasted 30 seconds...I just didn't want her getting too full, that was all...she was demolishing the kibble (I had put some in each slot just to test out the toy and how it worked, and she was knocking off all of the kibble in each section.) When I closed one flap, she would look at me, and say "You're a tease Mommy!" She would go to the next section and raise that flap up, and find more...." See got ya, you think you had me fooled... not so fast Mommy.... I got this toy down!" I love it, she loves it..... So happy.... … more

Tricky for big dogs
By Charlee on Apr 10, 2018
I have a golden so this was a little harder for him because of its size. However, he still loves to play with it.

Very fun for dinner and breakfast time!
By SchipAttack on Jul 2, 2017
My dog LOVES this thing!!! She gets so excited when I start filling it up and is immediately trying to bat at it with her paws and stick her nose under the flaps. This is not a challenging puzzle by any means -- my 9lb dog figured it out immediately and will finish her meal at most 20-30 seconds more slowly than if I just fed her out of her regular bowl. BUT this is really fun and a great way to make at least her meals more interesting.

Good for engaging the brain!
By AWESOMEPAWS on Apr 30, 2017
I needed to slow my dogs down when eating and engage their brains per one of my dog's animal behaviorist (DVM). This did it. Course he is a large dog and tried to eat it, but so far he hasn't broken it. One dog is 85 pounds and the other is 50 pounds.

Disappointing
By Globarrvers on Apr 30, 2017
My dog shows no interest no matter what kind of treats I put in the toy. My dog is a rescue dog, an Austrian Terrier, about 3 (we think). He is intelligent, but just did not respond to the toy.

Too easy !
By Jojo on Apr 28, 2017
My dog figured out how to use it in minutes. Even when it is adjusted to the harder setting. It doesn't take him long to figure it out.

pass on this one
By Elliesmom on Apr 27, 2017
I had one puzzle board already, so thought I would purchase this one to mix it up a little. Even with the best of treats, she was bored with it in less than a day. I'm actually looking to send it back. It may work out for some, but my dog just didn't care for it.

I have 2 dogs,a male 9 yr old Chihuahua &12 yr old F mix, black lovable don't know maybe part hound of some kind.I have bought ,been give many, many of these toys all brands! Some may stump the Chihuahua for seconds, literally.Generally if stumped, then I show him how it works once,he's got it.ASAP! This one,I didn't get done filling the other side, started to spin it.He had it figured out. It's ok,my other dog plays with it.As do my cats. It's a very well made toy too & I like the color as well!

I give this to my Jack Russell terrier when I leave the house. Keeps her entertained for a short while. She learned it the first time I showed it to her.

My Golden Retriever puppy figured this out within minutes. He just takes the flappers off.
