Zipper at the top is kind of weird. It would be better to have an adjustable string. Side pocket is almost to small for 12oz water bottle for dog.
I used this with my yorkie for years. He did fit In there better than the picture shows, he just really liked having one leg out.
This just doesn't let the dog sit right and not comfortable. And too much netting, dog claws get stuck on both sides and top. He just doesn't like it, the bags are better that he has more room. 4 lb Chihuahua and he's not comfortable. If you lay it down, its okay, but this is a backpack and should be used as a backpack. What a waste of $30+ as a glorified toyholder. Iits 8-1/4 to 10-1/4 at widest (tapers, kidney shapped) x 7-3/4 deep. Height is 12"
Bought this for a 12 pound dachshund. She would fit, if I fold her in half. Good quality, might hold an 8 pound dog.
My 7 lb dog can lay down and loves the pouch. She ends up laying on the front side if it is unzipped. My 12 lb dog can sit and look around and also loves it. The backpack seems to fit better on a person with the 12 pound dog because she fills up the bottom and the pack sits correctly even when unzipped. Nicely made and good design. Only request would be an external pouch for a water bottle.
Too small for my 11 pound yorkie. Does not hold up to 20 pound dog as advertised.
This backpack is perfect for my 12 year old 12lb dog. We go on hikes with our dogs and sometimes she just can't go the whole way. This was she can join! It is comfy for her, lots of room still and comfy to wear and carry her. I've tried other backpacks that didn't have the cushioned straps or a waist band. It also has three pockets to carry all their stuff! The only thing that would be better if it had a water bottle holder on the side instead of one of the pockets.
I have a 10 lb chihuahua and he cannot fit comfortably in this. He is too short for his head to stick out of the top but too big to be comfortable inside. It seems well-made but not very practical in application. the picture on the box has a Jack Russell in the back- yeah right! Ain't no way a dog that size fits in this thing.
These are advertised to fit dogs up to 20 pounds. It works fine for my littler dog (12 pounds) ONLY with the top off, but my other 15 pound girl absolutely cannot fit no matter what - and she looks highly uncomfortable and unsafe the way she hangs halfway out of it. These are very small and should be described as being able to fit dogs no more than 12 pounds. I am trying to return one pack for a refund, if it goes smoothly I will update to three stars. The good thing I do have to say is that with my littler dog, she seems pretty secure in it, and the thick straps and additional chest strap distributes her weight so that it is very comfortable to carry her. If your dog is on the litter side, go for it, because it IS comfortable! If your dog is a taller breed or weighs more than 12 pounds then this is NOT a good investment.
All in all it feels like a good bag. We've not had to put our little buddy in it yet, though did to test it out. He seems relaxed in it however the bottom is rather soft. Husband is going to retrofit the bottom with something to help support our little boy.
