About This Item

  • Eco-Straw uses special technology to compress high fiber wheat straw into a pellet that is twice as absorbent as newspaper based litter and will absorb 300 percent its weight in moisture.
  • When wet, Eco-Straw pellets expand and separate, allowing the wet areas to be scooped on a daily basis. This eliminates waste and the litter will last longer than traditional wood shavings. Easier to clean means less time cleaning cages and more time with your pet. Eco-Straw stays in the cage and litter pan and is not easily kicked or thrown out by active pets
  • Natural fiber from the wheat grass plant is not only safe if consumed by your pet, but can be beneficial to the digestive system of rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and other plant eating animals.
  • Eco-Straw is your ideal choice for a safe, dust free litter or bedding for your pet. It is toilet flushable and beneficial to the soil when composted. Heat treatment of the pellets guarantees that Eco-Straw will be mite and insect free.
  • Eco-Straw is cleaner and more hygienic for your pet than wood shavings. Due to the unique characteristics of Eco-Straw the urine will migrate below the surface area thereby moving moisture away from your pet. Eco-Straw will not track or stick to coats of animals with long hair, thus making the owner and pet more content and happy.

If using a metal grate on the bottom to separate out the Eco-Straw from the cage, this would be a wonderful use of bedding for absorbency.

Dust from pellets

I’m using those pellets for more than a year, really good option but recently (two last orders) the bag comes with extra dust from the pellets, too much to use it. We are going to try another time otherwise we will need to looks for another option

Very Absorbent

This is great litter for my rabbit. Very absorbent and not a sludgy puddle that he has to sit in. Easy clean up too.

Rabbit Litter

My rabbit seems to enjoy this litter, as he wasn't litter trained before I got him and he picked it up right away. The pellets soak up liquid really well, but it is very difficult to sift through the litter. The litter is also quite dusty and it gets tracked everywhere.

best pee smells evah

This litter not only absorb well it also kills odor. I tired paper based, wood base (not pine-im allergic) they all has some smells when he peed in one spot so many times. But with this product it didn’t. I only clumps and heavy. I’m glad I tried. He didn’t tried to eat it too maybe not tasty? So double bonus!!

My "mom" bought this for my (bunny) litter box to be placed under the straw bedding for absorbing liquid and odors. Since I like to eat all the other absorbents she has tried - therefore mucking up my digestion - these are safe in case I decide to eat them too. They are great at keeping the odor down too.

Messy litter

I was really hoping I would love this but it turns into a nasty, smelly mush that is difficult to clean out of the litter tray. Going back to the paper litter pellets that absorbed the waste and held shape versus this product that turned into a mush that has to be scraped out.

Technically works, but I think other products work better

I usually use paper litter and thought I would try eco straw to see how it worked. It was highly absorbent, was great at odor control, and clumped together as advertised, but it would also get stuck to the bottom of the litter pan, which made cleanup less convenient. I did not try to see if I could scoop it as you do kitty litter because I put a layer of hay down on top of my rabbit's litter. I normally love Oxbow products, but this didn't blow me away.

Small Animal Litter

I use this for my bunnies and it works amazing. One of them tends to eat it so makes me feel better that it’s not going to cause any harm.
