Description

Provide a litter that is super absorbent, safe and easy to clean with Oxbow Bene Terra Eco-Straw Pelleted Wheat Straw Small Animal Litter. Traditional wood shavings do not absorb liquid, making scooping ineffective. And they can be harmful to your pet if ingested. Oxbow Bene Terra Eco-Straw Pelleted Wheat Straw Small Animal Litter not only absorbs liquid, its wheat grass fibers can be beneficial to small pets' digestive systems if ingested. Made from high-fiber wheat straw compressed into pellets, it is twice as absorbent as newspaper-based litter and longer-lasting than wood shavings. When wet, Oxbow Bene Terra Eco-Straw Pelleted Wheat Straw Small Animal Litter expands and separates to absorb 300 percent its weight in moisture, making it easier to scoop. Just scoop the wet pellets and flush or toss them in your compost pile. You can also use it as bedding. It is dust-free and guaranteed mite- and insect-free. Plus Oxbow Bene Terra Eco-Straw Pelleted Wheat Straw Small Animal Litter won't track, easily scatter outside the habitat or stick to your pet's coat.

Key Benefits
  • Eco-Straw uses special technology to compress high fiber wheat straw into a pellet that is twice as absorbent as newspaper based litter and will absorb 300 percent its weight in moisture.
  • When wet, Eco-Straw pellets expand and separate, allowing the wet areas to be scooped on a daily basis. This eliminates waste and the litter will last longer than traditional wood shavings. Easier to clean means less time cleaning cages and more time with your pet. Eco-Straw stays in the cage and litter pan and is not easily kicked or thrown out by active pets
  • Natural fiber from the wheat grass plant is not only safe if consumed by your pet, but can be beneficial to the digestive system of rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and other plant eating animals.
  • Eco-Straw is your ideal choice for a safe, dust free litter or bedding for your pet. It is toilet flushable and beneficial to the soil when composted. Heat treatment of the pellets guarantees that Eco-Straw will be mite and insect free.
  • Eco-Straw is cleaner and more hygienic for your pet than wood shavings. Due to the unique characteristics of Eco-Straw the urine will migrate below the surface area thereby moving moisture away from your pet. Eco-Straw will not track or stick to coats of animals with long hair, thus making the owner and pet more content and happy.

  • Favorite bedding!

    By on

I've been through many different types of bedding for my rabbit, trying to find the easiest and healthiest solution. Shavings were terrible, made a mess, and were hard to pick up. The Carefresh bedding is okay, but not as absorbent as the Eco-Straw and messier to use. This is by far my favorite litter, and I love that it's safe for my bunny to nibble on. It does a great job absorbing urine, which keeps my bunny's feet clean and my apartment smelling nice. The 20 lb bag usually lasts me over a month with cleaning wet spots daily. Well worth the cost!

  • Great for Rabbits

    By on

This litter works great for rabbits - we put a small piece of wee wee mat down in the litter box, then a scoop of this stuff, then a handful of hay - only have to change once a week! Easy to dump out/clean. Does not stick. Very absorbent - no pooling of urine in the bottom of the litter box.

  • Small Animal Litter

I use this for my two rabbits. This litter is edible and also soaks up a LOT of moisture! I used it in outdoor rabbit hutches with a layer of hay on the top. Keeps my bunnies warm and dry for a few days before I have to change it. It is kinda pricey but worth the comfort for my babies. It also give me a few extra days before I have to completely change their cages out. I also like that it wont hurt them if they happen to eat it.

  • I don't often leave reviews but WOW

    By on

I don't typically leave reviews, but this litter is AMAZING. My husband has a severe pine allergy, so pine pellets are out. I have 2 rabbits and 2 guinea pigs, and run my own business out of my home, so I'm a FIEND about stink. I switched from paper bedding and cleaning potties 3 times a week, to these pellets and changing litter ONCE a week! I am SO impressed with it... A little goes a long way, it's not as messy as paper bedding and most of all, IT WORKS! I have 3 enormous potties in my house and you would have no idea. I highly recommend this litter to small animal owners!

  • Awesome Litter

    By on

This Eco Straw is amazing. NO ODER! I was using the Kaytee brand and it smelled like a barn in our mudroom. I have a rabbit and she needed retraining in the litter box department. I grabbed this brand based on reviews and won't turn back to Kaytee. Highly recommend. And retraining is going really well also!

  • Saved my daughter's Chinchilla

    By on

We acquired a chinchilla about 6 months ago, my daughter's friend could no longer keep him, (we are complete suckers for animals) so we got the little guy. He came with some fleece blankets to use as bedding, those smelled awful and he chewed them. We tried puppy pads, those needed changed twice a day and barely made the smell tolerable. Plus, if he was bored he'd reach his little hands through the bars, grab the pad and chew them. Something had to change, we were spending way too much money on puppy pads, they weren't effective and we were worried about him eating them and the fleece was not any better. This stuff is a miracle. There is no odor in my daughter's room. We placed a puppy pad as a liner and placed the pellets on top, so we've not had any of the "mush" problem other reviews mentioned. I like the fact the straw pellets can go into the dog poo compost pile and not into the trash. … more

  • Great for rabbits!

    By on

I used this for my rabbits litter boxes for months and when we moved I ran out and the neighboring pet stores didn't have this brand. I bought another cheaper brand of paper based litter from the pet store and within a day the odor of the rabbits was terrible. With the oxbow bedding I never ever noticed an odor so needless to say I am going back it is so worth getting it shipped to the house!

  • Great stuff

This bedding has no fragrance to it and is all natural. It is perfect for my rats. They took to it right away. The pellets puff up when they get wet, which is way better than the clay litter that turns to mush.

  • I like it :)

    By on

I was dubious of this product before I tried it, but I like it. It's light clumping, but my rabbits pee a lot! so it does turn into a pile of mush.. its not a big deal. I do like how absorbent it is and the odor control. One thing i really like is that it's not harmful if my rabbits nibble on it

  • Indecisive Litter Folk

    By on

I'm not sure whether I like this product or not... I like the concept and that it's eco & consumption friendly, but the pellets underneath the water bottles completely disintegrated into a pureed poo like slush and my piggies keep stepping in it. It's all over their paws and now they're leaving paw prints everywhere. I could get a brick to place directly underneath the water bottles, but now I can't help but wonder if their pee will cause it to melt into slush in the pen. I'm still indecisive about the overall product.
