Description

Provide a litter that is super absorbent, safe and easy to clean with Oxbow Bene Terra Eco-Straw Pelleted Wheat Straw Small Animal Litter. Traditional wood shavings do not absorb liquid, making scooping ineffective. And they can be harmful to your pet if ingested. Oxbow Bene Terra Eco-Straw Pelleted Wheat Straw Small Animal Litter not only absorbs liquid, its wheat grass fibers can be beneficial to small pets' digestive systems if ingested. Made from high-fiber wheat straw compressed into pellets, it is twice as absorbent as newspaper-based litter and longer-lasting than wood shavings. When wet, Oxbow Bene Terra Eco-Straw Pelleted Wheat Straw Small Animal Litter expands and separates to absorb 300 percent its weight in moisture, making it easier to scoop. Just scoop the wet pellets and flush or toss them in your compost pile. You can also use it as bedding. It is dust-free and guaranteed mite- and insect-free. Plus Oxbow Bene Terra Eco-Straw Pelleted Wheat Straw Small Animal Litter won't track, easily scatter outside the habitat or stick to your pet's coat.

Key Benefits
  • Eco-Straw uses special technology to compress high fiber wheat straw into a pellet that is twice as absorbent as newspaper based litter and will absorb 300 percent its weight in moisture.
  • When wet, Eco-Straw pellets expand and separate, allowing the wet areas to be scooped on a daily basis. This eliminates waste and the litter will last longer than traditional wood shavings. Easier to clean means less time cleaning cages and more time with your pet. Eco-Straw stays in the cage and litter pan and is not easily kicked or thrown out by active pets
  • Natural fiber from the wheat grass plant is not only safe if consumed by your pet, but can be beneficial to the digestive system of rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas and other plant eating animals.
  • Eco-Straw is your ideal choice for a safe, dust free litter or bedding for your pet. It is toilet flushable and beneficial to the soil when composted. Heat treatment of the pellets guarantees that Eco-Straw will be mite and insect free.
  • Eco-Straw is cleaner and more hygienic for your pet than wood shavings. Due to the unique characteristics of Eco-Straw the urine will migrate below the surface area thereby moving moisture away from your pet. Eco-Straw will not track or stick to coats of animals with long hair, thus making the owner and pet more content and happy.

Great product by a great company

    By on

I love all of Oxbow’s products, so I didn’t hesistant when I saw this new item. I have 2 rabbits, who have separate litter pans. I’ve always struggled with any type of bedding/litter- nothing ever seemed to retain the smell (no matter how much I cleaned). These pellets are wonderful- they clump really well, making it extremely easy to scoop up with a “poop scooper”. I use these pellets as a base, and than their regular soft paper bedding on top. I’m in a studio apartment, and can say there is no smell, and cleanup has never been easier. HIGHLY reccomend- although it is a bit pricey for its size.

    Roxy litter

I love this stuff and would tell every indoor rabbit and other pet owners with animals listed on bag this try it. Doesn't kill the stink of rabbit pee. Nothing really does it's just that way. I would first ask your vet first.

First Oxbow product that we don't like/ It's a wet mess

    By on

First, we love oxbow. It is a quality brand we use for our rabbit. We normally use paper litter/bedding for our rabbit. We have used several brands and the one I like chewy didn't have in stock. I decided to try this instead. First the pellets look like the food pellets, so I had to make sure everyone in the family knew the difference. Second, my rabbit didn't seem to like it. There was constantly a lot of her pellets out of the litter box instead of inside it. She is very clean and never has pellets outside her box with the paper litter. Last, it disintegrated once urine hit it. It clumped together and would make the litter pan soaked. I had to dump the box and scrub it out everyday. Normally First, we love oxbow. Normally I change her box daily, but the paper litter soaks up the urine and I don't need to scrub her box daily. It was gross and smelled. I will not buy this again, I would rather use newspaper that would have the same reaction, but be a lot cheaper. I have gone back to the paper litter, but I will continue to purchase Oxbow hay, food and treats. … more

    Odor-free ferret cage!

    By on

Aside from the typical ferret "stink", of course.. As with with any fresh load you can tell an animal has gone to the bathroom, but this pelleted litter eliminates and absorbs any smell within a matter of minutes! I wouldn't say my ferrets are attracted to the scent naturally, but the job gets done and scooping is easy, as it clumps tight!

    Perfect for rabbits!

    By on

I have 4 rabbits, from a 15lb Rex to a 3lb Holland lop; this litter works perfectly for all of them. One bag lasts me about a month. I like to mix some of the Oxbow natural paper bedding on top as well for extra comfort while they are grazing on hay in their litter boxes. Easy to empty out and refill the litter box as well.

    Favorite bedding!

    By on

I've been through many different types of bedding for my rabbit, trying to find the easiest and healthiest solution. Shavings were terrible, made a mess, and were hard to pick up. The Carefresh bedding is okay, but not as absorbent as the Eco-Straw and messier to use. This is by far my favorite litter, and I love that it's safe for my bunny to nibble on. It does a great job absorbing urine, which keeps my bunny's feet clean and my apartment smelling nice. The 20 lb bag usually lasts me over a month with cleaning wet spots daily. Well worth the cost!

    Very good litter

    By on

I was previously using So Phresh, but had to purchase it off of a different site and preferred ordering everything from the same place so I gave this a go. It's great at absorbing the odor as long as you're changing it regularly like you're supposed to. A little goes a long way so it lasts me a very long time.

    The last straw

    By on

I have been searching for a replacement for aspen pellets litter for my bird cages. The Eco-Straw material is safe and very water/waste absorbent and is easy to clean. The material is order neutral and fruit fly resistant.
