My chinchillas absolutely love these they can’t get enough!
Does anyone's pet actually use these? Mine won't even go to them. I tried to lure him to them with treats but still no interest. Not sure what I'll be doing with them.
I’ve noticed this is a great enrichment toy for my chinchillas because it takes them a lot of time and effort to chew through to get to the center of each piece and they love the flavor of the inside.
I’ve gone through many chew toys for my Attila the Bun. He chomps a few times and hops away. But something about these has him chewing these constantly. He’s obsessed. I’ll be buying more to keep them on hand and to scatter around the house!
My rabbits LOVE the sunflower chews. The stalks are thick. This treat is robust. My biggest complaint with rabbit toys in general is that others only last a day or two before my bunnies destroy them. Not with these!!! These treats last and my bunnies keep coming back for more. There is a previous review of someone saying the inside is styrofoam or something? It is untrue, that person was uninformed. The inside material is soft because it contains the xylem and phloem, the water and nutrient transport structure within the stem. All safe and natural! 5 stars! Buying for the second time!!
Hung this in the same spot our 2 guinea boys had previously chewed.....and they have no interest in it. It's been hanging there for over two weeks now, and no chewing whatsoever.
My hamster liked this sunflowers stalk chew. The inside is white and looks weird but it’s safe. The white part is the inside of the stalk. I took it apart so I have individual chew sticks. This is worth a try for your hamster, gerbil, mice, rats, and other small pets.
My mice LOVED this. It’s a big gaint for mice but they still love it, they’ve chewed into a couple of the stalls as far as they can reach.
I know another reviewer was concerned about the Styrofoam like substance and that oxbow doesn't label it, but they do; its dried sunflower stalk. That's what the inside of a sunflower stalk is. Perfectly safe for all the small pets it's recommended for. It's somewhat understandable people might get confused since they probably expect the inside of a sunflower stalk to look like other plants, but just a quick check of the tag and a Google search will help you out. Oxbow is a great brand and the people there are informed. I've asked many detailed questions about about food products and they've always been able to provide a solid answer. If you can't find the information you want on the tag, you can always email them and they'll respond in a timely manner.
My two rabbits were enjoying this new chew toy from oxbow until I noticed that there is some white styrofoam material in the center. The label doesn't tell you what it actually is so I would rather not let them play with this and so I just tossed it out.
