  • happy healthy gerbs--what more could I want?

    By on

our gerbils are very picky eaters; they only eat the most fatty seeds out of any mix, were "meh" about the other Oxbow kibble, but this...? as soon as we put it in reach they're chowing down! I love knowing they're getting complete nutrition with every pellet they nibble. What more could I want than happy healthy gerbs? The fact that with Chewy I pay less and can autoship instead of head to the box-store pet place every few weeks... that's a bonus :)

  • Horrible never buying again

    By on

I love Oxbow food for my hamster since he was fed the Oxbow Essentials Healthy Handfuls food in the pet store. I wanted to try something new but oh my gosh no! This stuff breaks apart so badly into dust in less than a day. A waste of money.

  • None Of My Hamsters Like It.

    By on

I have a 6 hamsters. Syrian, fancy bear, & Robo. None of them will eat this particular oxborrow food. However, they all LOVE the oxborrow food that is round like Cheerios. The Garden flavor may just not be a hamsters weakness.

  • Hamsters and Mice love it!

    By on

I have a fancy hamster, a longhaired Syrian hamster, and a fancy bear hamster; they all love it and will eat a lot! I also have 7 boy mice and 10 girl mice, they also like the food. They prefer this food over any other, so I will continue to buy. Also chewy sells it for cheaper than in my local pet store! I love that I can get it online because it is cheaper and I need a lot for my animals.

  • Pet shop recommended: full nutrition

Hamster likes and is healthy on it. Wish it came in larger bags so could get months supply or am I over feeding her?

  • Research what’s best first

    By on

I love this brand of food normally (we feed our guinea pigs this brand) but I wish I would have researched a bit more about what’s best for hamsters. I didn’t realize this isn’t the best choice for them due to it being grass based and not that much protein. I guess it’s fine as a mix in but I was hoping for a main diet I wish oxbow would have made something more hamster appropriate. Plus my young hamster isn’t interested in it at all.

  • They like it, I like it

    By on

My gerbils are pretty picky and do not like most gerbil food. There is a mix of seeds and such that I buy for them and wanted to add a health boost mixture to it that they would not ignore. They chose this one. I will continue to buy this.

  • Good Healthy Food Option

    By on Top 500 Contributor

When I first got my hamster I couldn't really decide on what kind of food to get her because of all the options. Having had hamsters in the past, I wanted to avoid the typical seed mix because I knew that it could be fattening and wasn't the healthiest. I decided to try this Oxbow kind, since its only a natural pellet form. My hamster isn't the biggest fan of it. but she eats it and I know its good for her. I do add a seed and fruit mix in on occasion so she doesn't get bored, but I will continue to buy this for the health factor.

  • She Hates It!

My hammie is not a picky eater but she absolutely hates this food for some reason. A real shame since I like this food's quality.

  • Best food out there

    By on

I have not only hamsters, but rabbits, so I know how important proper nutrition is for these animals. This company doesn’t care about their food looking “pretty” but rather it being nutritious, unlike other food companies. And nutritious it is. This is why I will always use this brand for my hamsters!
