While my 2 Cavys enjoy a daily salad of fresh greens and veggies that no doubt gives them all the vitamin C they need, the oxbow Vitamin C tabs while fresh are easy to break apart into small sections which I then place in with their pellet food. I figure that it can not hurt and the only reason I give this product a 4 star review is that one a person opens the package the Vitamin C levels quickly evaporate even with sealing the package evertime it is used. Plus, my Guinea Pigs don't seem overly thrilled by the taste either. They will eat them, but they go for fresh hay over the tabs any day. Plus, lets be realistic. Paying like 10 bucks for a product that must only cost a few cents to produce is poor money management and I bet the package cost Oxbow more than the actual tabs inside do.
When I first had my guinea pigs I tried giving them the liquid vitamin C in their water bottle. I find you cannot be sure how much or little they wree getting and started giving them Oxbow vitamin C tabs. Now I know they are getting a proper amount and they like them.
I like using these Vitamin C cookies/biscuits because you know exactly how much Vitamin C your piggy is getting, as opposed to putting liquid Vitamin C in their drinking water.
Not only does my guinea pig love these so much that the minute I pull the package out she's at her cage entrance squeaking and wheeking like crazy it's like she can tell what I pull out and she comes running to the exact spot that she gets it given to her at I have never seen a guinea pig so happy for something like this and she was a rescue that was so skinny you could see everyone of her when I first got her I've only had her about a month and she's already looking like a normal guinea pig and she's happy as can be. I happily recommend this for anybody with guinea pigs she loves her vitamin C this way my bet other piggies will too
My boys love these! They have become an integral part of our breakfast routine.
I have three Guinea pigs: Alfred, Arlow, and Alberto, and all three go feral for this every morning. I give them half a tab a day each to make it last longer and it’s the highlight of their entire day. I really recommend these especially if you’re worried about their vitamin C intake. You can’t overdose on vitamin C so even if they’re getting enough, a little extra won’t hurt (it might just help).
My piggies are picky, but they love these vitamin c cookies.
Not only do both My Guinea pigs love this tray but it’s very healthy 4 them
My guys look forward to their vitamin c treat!
I give my 6 guinea pigs these supplements every night! When I adopted two of my girls who were malnourished and vitamin c deficient these really helped them bounce back!
