- Oat Hay is companion forage that is similar in nutritional analysis to the western timothy. Your animals will love the immature oat grain that is contained in the seed head and will benefit greatly from the fiber in the leaf and stem.
- Oat Hay is a good source of fiber and also gives variety to your animal's diet. This product also makes a good bedding alternative to wheat straw.
- The stage of maturity at harvest determines the development of the seed head. If the hay is harvested immaturely, at the early bloom stage, the actual oat kernel is not mature. The seed heads consist primarily of oat husks, which are rich in fiber.
- Hay is absolutely vital to the health of small herbivores. It provides not only nutrition, but environmental enrichment that mimics the animal's natural habitat.

Not Her Favorite
Our bunny just does not seem to like oat hay. She always comes eagerly to the gate of her pen when we come to see her as if to say, "What did you bring me?" I gave her some oat hay. She sniffed it, and turned back to me: "What else have you got?" She will eat it sometimes when there is nothing else available, but it's definitely not her favorite.

My bunbun loves Oxbow hay, pellets, treats and toys! Recently purchased more Oxbow Oat Hay and he just scarfs it down! Bunny yummies!
My rabbits love this but..
This is my go to for my rabbits. They love this stuff compared to other hay. But this order I found things that should not be in the bag. Not impressed.
Some of My Piggies Love It
For my piggies who love it, 5 star, but some will abandon all their hay if this is added. I have to give it all to another pair & start a fresh bowl of their normal hay to get them to eat it. So for them, 1 star. The 3 star rating seems a fair compromise since it is a good product, just a preference thing I guess.

My bunnies are more used to timothy hay, but they seemed to enjoy a bit of oat hay mixed in

Bad batch
I ordered this from my buddy in a bundle but like 80% of the bag has yellow hay, It really sucks because I bought it for my Bunny to taste new options and And almost 2/3 of the bag is unusable, I can't even use it in her litter Box Since my Bunny doesn't like it and she'll rather pee outside her litter Box then go inside it if it has that hay
Not Good Hay
I got this hay to see if my guinea pigs would like it, and when I opened the bag I immediately noticed the muted color. This hay was not very green at all, and the strands are very thick and coarse. When I went to pull a handful out of the bag I had to cut the pieces off with scissors because they were so ridiculously long! I’ve put maybe 2 handfuls in, and they each sat untouched for days before I threw it out, so I guess my girls weren’t all that impressed either. I definitely will not be buying this product again. I’m not sure if this type of hay is supposed to be like this because I love Oxbow and have been impressed with their other products!

This is an awesome product. My cavies and rabbits love it.
Too straw like
My guinea pig hated it. I threw most of it away. She likes more grass like hay. She wont eat it if it is too hard.
