How long is it effective after adding when pets have been drinking out of it? Does it still continue to work after tongues have been in the water bowl?
Answer by MarilynApr 30, 2022
Effectiveness: I change my pet's water twice daily. So, based on my routine, 12 hours. Tongues in the water: yes it continues to work. My pet occasionally sneezes after lapping water. Her sneezes didn't seem to affect the solution's effectiveness! Her dental hygiene continued to improve even after getting water up her nose. :)

Hello! Just received my first order of this on the recommendation of my vet. We've been having a bit of weather here in Atlanta and it arrived mostly frozen. It's on the counter defrosting. Will it be OK having been frozen? Thanks!
Answer by ChewyJan 23, 2018
If the bottle of Pet Oral Hygiene Solution, or any other Oxyfresh product, is thawed at room temperature and the container or seal aren't damaged, the product will be good to use. The products are tested at very low and very high temperatures and can withstand both conditions.

What is the amount to be given if two dogs share the same bowl? A Rough Collie and a Cavalier.
Answer by ChewyJan 01, 2018
It is recommended to add 1 teaspoonful per quart of drinking water, or mist undiluted solution directly into the pet's mouth twice daily.

Will this help remove tartar buildup?
Answer by ChewyApr 24, 2018
This product helps to fight tartar and gum disease.

I rescue dogs and many are so neglected and have never experienced any type of oral care, pretty impossible to start brushing their teeth! I buy this by the gallon and add it to the fresh communal water bowl daily and just ordered the smaller size/spray bottle so I spray directly into their mouths. It is colorless and tasteless and yes, I have tasted it myself! Very helpful.

Clean cat breath

I was sceptical and hopeful . But it really works and it doesn't take very much or very long to give my kitties a cleaner mouth breath is better and I know it makes their mouth better an when the mouth is in better shape the rest of the body is healthier or at least I have been told that by our friendly dr friend an i want my cats all 5 of their mouths protected . It's not 1st product i have tried but if it keeps working this well it will b my last an it's a great value big bottle takes so little for kitties water bowls . I would highly recommend it u may think oh this cost to much but honestly if u get results I have u will b so glad u made that purchase I am WE LUV CHEWY

easy to use and works!

My cat has dental issues (inflamed gums, a rotten tooth that needed to be extracted) and he has always had "swamp mouth" (stinky breath!). The vet recommended an additive for his water. It has been only a few days and things have improved. I don't think he can taste it, which is a good thing!

Mostly Good

Well, the dog didn't seem to notice at all! The older cat noticed immediately and want's nothing to do with the "new water." The younger cat didn't notice either. So, if you're on the fence, give it a go and see how it goes.

My cat has nicer breath

Since I use Oxyfresh in the water bowl my cat no longer has dragon breath. She hasn't had a dental check up since beginning Oxyfresh .

No more stinky breath

I picked this up at a pet store one day with no hope that it would really help my cat's stinky breath, but it did. Not only that, he liked it -- he started waiting for me to put the Oxyfresh in his water fountain. It's so nice to be able to cuddle my cat with out him breathing out a miasma of whatever he had last to eat in my face. After that first bottle, of course I started buying them at Chewy.

upset stomach

After starting this for two days, my dog suddenly got upset stomach and this is the only thing that was added/changed to her diet. My cat seems okay for now without problems; I followed the correct instructions and dosing on the bottle, so not sure why this is making her upset :(

Worked like a charm

I was told by a vet that my dog was in kidney failure and needed some dental work. She is 13 yrs old. She has very bad breath. The cost was $1500.I am 80 years old and really love my dog but couldn't afford it. My friend who had been a vet tech said that a 13 yr old dog might not survive the anesthetic, especially one in kidney failure, so she suggested I try this. My dog if feeling better, her breath is better and she stopped waking me up during the night to pee. I am so thrilled. She loves it too.

It Really Works!

So many times stuff one buys on the internet doesn't work. Only a capful per quart of bottled water is very affordable. It is a miracle to be able to snuggle with my chihuahua again. His breath had gotten to be Horrible. I even took him to the vet and had his teeth cleaned. That didn't cure it, but the Oxyfresh worked great!
