The sizes are by numbers. So what number is a medium

The right size is chosen based on the back length of the dog. To determine the correct size, measure your dog’s back from neck to the base of the tail. If the dog is between two sizes we recommend to choose the bigger size. For the complete sizing chart, click the “Size” tab, next to the “Instructions” tab, just under the product photos. Click the "Size" tab, next to the "Highlights" tab, towards the top bar above the product image when viewed on the app.
Would this be okay to wear in 80-degree weather-is it that lightweight?

This shirt is designed for protection and would be suitable for warmer weather. The fabric is treated with UV protection to block harmful UV rays (UPF 50+). In addition it has zebra pattern to disturb flying insects. It is extremely comfortable and the design and elastic fabric allow free movement.

A Good Substitute!

Instead of using an Elizabethan collar after my dog's side surgery, I ordered this dog shirt for Jeffrey to wear to cover the incision. I ordered size 22 inch for Jeffrey who weighs 35 lbs. The shirt is so long that it covers his tail but it is stretchy and otherwise fits fine. It is easy to pull the shirt's tail end forward when bathroom trips are needed. He looks great and seems to like wearing the shirt.

Love this shirt fits nice My dog uses it on the boat Keeps his pink skin from getting burned also keeps him cool when it gets wet Highly recommended!

Mini Zebra

The shirt fits nicely, covers her body well, is light weight and easy to get on and off. Our dog has allergies and every March her coat starts getting patchy for 3 months, but this year she lost even more. We were going to spend 3 weeks at the beach and worried about sun exposure. In a panic I ordered the wrong size, called Chewy and Bella made sure the correct size arrived prior to our trip. Thanks to Chewy and staff, my dog has been able to enjoy being on the beach.

Way way too big

Took the effort to measure my Chi-mix puppy, but my 16 inches and this outfit's 16 inches were no where close to each other! Can't use this thing.

Even Cuter?

I thought my dog Adora Bull was the cutest girl dog in the world (her brother happens to be the handsomest boy dog), but when I put the Paikka sun shirt on her, she was actually even cuter! Not only that, but the shirt nicely covers her belly, where she had to get some growths cut off because of her love of lying in the sun. Now she can do so more safely. Not just that, but Chewy, the company, was extremely good in dealing with us. I highly recommend both the product and Chewy.

Hooray! It Fits!

My human bought me this soft shirt to wear on cool days. I am an Italian Greyhound and sizing is often difficult. The measurements provided by the seller worked perfectly. There is room to move and I feel very slinky! My human was very smart getting me this shirt! I wish it came in flannel so I could get one for jammies. Thanks Chewy.
