    Cat likes to hide in it

    My cat likes to scratch the top of this log and hide in it and look out. I bought it so he could scratch on wood without scratching on the closet doors. It does make a mess, but that's expected. He stands on top of it also. I'm happy that he likes it.

    The superior cat scratcher

    I am unsure as to what went wrong with the other reviews. This is my cats very first scratcher and she immediately took to it. Within the first MINUTE she was scratching it to her hearts content and rolling around in the center- as if she was naturally drawn to scratching it. Contrary to what others have said, it is very sturdy. The log is wide and has never rolled over. Additionally, the wooden design is not wood but it is tough and durable. My cat is obsessed with this thing and it looks awesome.

    too light--rolls over easily

    Don't be misled by the photo. The "wood" on this scratcher is as thin as cardboard. The interior is useful as a cave and for scratching, but the exterior is useless because the log rolls over immediately with the slight pressure. My cats quickly learned that and are now afraid to use it.
