We have an old dog that can only hold it for so long. We had been taping several pee pads to the floor, and he would still manage to pee off the side and even somehow under them. We tried this reusable one out, and he has peed completely on it every time except 1, and that was just slightly off. I think because it is a little heavier than paper pads, he doesn't kick it up quite as easily. It is also very easy to clean and it is nice to have 2 so you can put one out while washing the other one.
We have a senior female GSD mix who’s had urinary incontinence for well over a year. We quickly bought a few sets of washable pee pads (another brand) but they didn’t wash well, got deformed (too fabric shrunk but pvc lining stayed the same), and our washer has a hard time with them. These ones are sooo much better! The bottom lining isn’t a solid pvc material and the top layer seems to trap less hair. They haven’t leaked through once and she’s had some big accidents. We realized we need to retire our older ones and triple our inventory of this brand, so I just ordered a bunch more! So glad to have a good option.
I have a 14-year-old Yorkshire Terrier that is incontinent, partially blind the sweetest thing on four legs! He wears a belly-band diapers but manages to wiggle out of them during the night. I put this pad next to his bed. When he gets up, he immediately urinates as he walks and this large pad is there to take care of it!! Best purchase ever!
These worked well at first, but after a few months of use, the smell just would not wash out. The urine odor must build up over time and becomes really noticeable after a few months. I had several pads and washed them every 3 or 4 days. I washed them in hot water with Nature's Miracle in the rinse, and still couldn't get the smell out. To make matters worse, when they were in the wash, the whole laundry room smelled like urine. They're not recyclable, and since they're not clean even when they're clean...they're certainly not fit for donation so in the land fill they went. I wish I'd never bought them. : (
Since I started using these washable pee pads, my puppy started also peeing on blankets and dog bed. She also started to sleep on the pee pads. I had to go back to using the disposable pee pads because she got very confused by the washable pads. Probably because of the material they are made of, dogs can’t differentiate between pee pad, blanket, or bed. Definitely would never use again
I foster dogs. My Sadie has reoccurring UTI's and this product has been a life saver for my tile an new vinyl plank floors! I simply lay one down on the tile with one side lifted over the transition strip that leads to vinyl flooring. I place a large pee pad on top and there is no runoff of urine on my tile or vinyl flooring. I am extremely happy we purchased a pair! Thank you!
Excellent construction, extremely durable. My dog doesn't like the velcro sound, but it holds securely. If your dog is near the top end of size/weight of a particular size, go up a size. My dog was 3" short of the top waist size for the small bellyband. I ordered medium. It fits great and I wouldn't want it smaller.
I was worried when I got these because they are so nice and look like a pieces of fine blanket with waterproof backing. I figured the dogs wouldn’t want to pee on them. However they got used to it by the end of the day since it was in the regular spot. They work really well no breakthrough! I got 2 packages. These will pay for themselves in about 3 orders. I have been spending roughly $23.00 an order for disposables monthly. ###I don’t want to add to the mountain of waste plastic in the landfills anymore!### I feel more virtuous and they are saving me money forever more! Get some you will be glad. Again Thanks Chewy’s! !! PS I’m going to review again after I wash and dry them a few weeks worth!
We bought two pads so we could swap one out while the other was washed. Raising a puppy (in this case a Great Dane) automatically means "accidents happen," but I'm so glad we decided to give these a try. The pad really came in handy during storms (the puppy refused to go outside). The pad stays in place, and the puppy hasn't had accidents anywhere else in the house.
I wish I had found these back when my diabetic kitty was alive, they are SO much easier and more effective than the disposable pee pads! I don't have to worry when my Thor pees over the side of the litterbox onto this pee mat that it'll spill when I pick up the pee mat, because it absorbs it and holds it like it should. No leaks, no smell that I can tell, and easy to launder and put back down. Pretty much non-slip as advertised, too, unless the young cats are playing and really try to move stuff. Being available in different sizes is awesome, too. So happy I found these! I have recommended them to my friends who have elderly dogs that sometimes can't wait to go out, too.
