To use this brush to pick up any loose fur you have to press firmly or the fur won't go through the comb. The cats don't like that. And even still it takes over 5 minutes of brushing to pick up a small clump of loose fur. Not worth the effort and the cats will lose patience.
Great for undercoat

This brush really pulls out those fine baby soft undercoat hairs on my short haired little fuzz nugget. He is kind of particular but enjoys this if i do it just right and with his permission. It does not feel as good as his regular brush so i start with his regular brush then sneakily switch to this tool when he is not looking. Luckily he has never caught me and seems to enjoy being brushed with this tool once he thinks it's his regular brush. The trick is not to let him see it coming, he knows the difference and like many of us, he does not like change. Thank God cats are not a little more intelligent or they truly would rule the world and we would live a life of servitude.
doesn’t remove hair well
on Sep 12, 2020
This brush is okay, but not as effective as regular silicon for removing lots of fur before it sheds off. My cats also seem to dislike the feeling of being brushed by this design. It does seem to do a decent job of “scraping” dirt / dust off their fur, or maybe it’s just easier to tell because of the flat metal teeth. I’ll keep using this as maybe I’m just not brushing the right way. It also may be that this is only designed for undercoat and not topcoat hair removal. For the price though, it’s fine.
Not Good For Thick Hair
on Oct 31, 2020
I guess it's not made for thick medium hair. I get some of the top later of hair out, but it misses a lot of hairs because it can't get deep in with such short teeth. Not a fan of this brush for my medium length thick haired cat.
Not grabbing hair?

I can see my cats shedding as I pet them, and their clicker brush pulls up quite a bit. They are starting to shed their summer coat to prepare for their winter one (they didn't shed much if at all during the summer) and it has become noticeable since their hairs are starting to show up on my clothes and are constantly floating into my face during pets. This is the only undercoat rake I could find in stock for months that was recommended for short hair cats. Mine have super silky soft hair or a very thin coat (maybe that one just doesn't have an undercoat yet?) but I will use this rake and only 3-10 (TOTAL) hairs will be sticking out, almost like they are clinging on due to static electricity I can see my cats shedding as I pet them, and their clicker brush pulls up quite a bit. This may be due to the time of year (no undercoat yet as summer fur is just shedding), but I follow up with their slicker brush which picks up a decent amount of fluff. I'm thinking it may be more my problem than the brush's problem, but I don't feel any resistance when I use the rake - it doesn't feel like it is combing down far enough to feel like it is combing, it just glides? I've tried varying angles and pressures with no luck. I will keep trying and see if I can make it work, but the rake's teeth may just be too short to get through the short hair to the undercoat.… more

My shorthair cat has been shedding everywhere and did not like to be brushed, plus the other brush I was using didn't work at all. This was a real bang for my buck, she PURS when I brush her with this, and I couldn't believe all the hair it caught!
Broke within 5 mins of use

This brush is a piece of garbage. It seemed flimsy when I took it out of the packaging, but one swipe on my dog's back and it fell apart. It is now broken and I've wasted 8 dollars.
Floof cat in heaven

This brush is AMAZING for my fluffy cat. She’s so much softer now, her shedding is more under control, and she loves brushing time. Plus, no more matting!
Seems to work

I have a Aussie with curly hair and now winter fur. This gets the undercoat he enjoys getting combed. It helps with the knots and seems to make his hair even softer.
Did not like it

I have a coarse short hair dog that goes through episodes of shedding. I found this brush with good reviews online and thought I would try it out as it is cheaper than more popular deshedding brushes (furminator), but this product didn't really do much with my dogs hair. The product is well made it seems like, but just did not really get rid of any fur from my dogs coat. I went ahead and bit the bullet and paid for a furminator.
